server crashed last night

server with nq 125 crashed tonight : we been very packed when this happened
nothing in the server ftp logs
i asked the servers hoster cuz same on the server site control panel i have nothing related to this crash when usually i have

they just told me :
It may not have been an actual crash, and instead just a server lockup or mass drop of players. You can check your server logs for clues, but the logging detail generally doesn’t show much.

so what they mean

Sometimes a server will seem to crash, but the process is just locked up and not responding, much like when a program on your computer freezes and you have to force it closed. This is handled a bit differently by the system than a process that just closes with an error.

A mass drop of players is when everyone loses connection to the server making everyone think that the server crash, but the server is actually still running. Either this or the above situation doesn’t leave an “Unexpected server stop” message in the Events log.

and i found absolutly nothing in the logs and same in the server site control panel
when we crash i always have in the events logs
watching ****storm we run only 18 maps to dont have too many pk3 in our ETmain ftp

i am a bit lost this time…

Can you post the last part(± 30 lines) of the logfiles(server.log and etconsole.log) ? (I assume there were players in the server when this happened ?)

From what I can see there are a few posibilities;

NQ crashed (is version 125 an older version) ?
The host accidently killed your process and not admitting it

What is your the value of the ‘logfile’ cvar in your config ?
When debugging crashes these settings are ideal;

seta g_log “yourlogfilename.log”
seta g_logSync “1”
seta logfile “3”

This should log to the normal logfile and etconsole.log.

Does the control panel have a seperate logfile with information ?
Is this the first time the server crashed ?

we run NQ 125

“The host accidently killed your process and not admitting it” might be that too …

server was pretty full around 25 guys when we crashed and for the logs we have that:
set g_log “etserver.log” // Game logging
set logfile “1”
set g_logsync “1”
set g_logOptions “384”

yes the control panel has a separate logfile with infos when we crash, and yesterday nothing here
in the past i remember we had problems with NQ 125 and some maps
