Ok, I may have missed a few topics, since I’ve been away so if there’s already any discussion dedicated to this topic, pls point me in the right direction.
Anyway, I’m running my ET server on Linux, the server is 20+4 player and runs in a commandprompt on the server, in case that matters.
Before the 1.02 upgrade I was able to keep it up and running constantly it for about 12-14 days in a row before it would give up on me with the error message “Segmentation Fault” and then it would anyway just be a matter of restarting it in the same commandprompt so it was quite easy to prevent by manually doing “quit” + a restart every other weekend.
After the upgrade it no longer agrees with me, and will only run for about 2-3 days in a row and then it will A) exit with an error message I don’t remember but similar to the above and B) completely lock up the commandprompt so it too needs to be killed and a new one started before the server can be restarted.
:moo:
Mind you, Linux never needs a restart during all this, and the ET server config is the same before the patch as after, also I have tried both the previous shrubmod, the new beta-shrubmod for ET 1.02, as well as ETPro 2.0.1 and “plain vanilla” ET. None of it will keep the server running for more than 2-3 days before it dies.
So I’m hoping that unless this is a general problem someone else maybe has encountered and solved this (?) Does anyone have any ideas on what to do ? Any old files or settings to be deleted that I could have missed, any config I need to do or whatever, I’ll try it all
just thought I’d check if anyone had encountered the error anyway, sometimes you can just tell the error without the actual error code
