Server admin question

(sphinx175) #1

Is there a way to turn off the ability for clients to vote on a map restart? I’d like to turn that off. Thanks

Only if you use shrubmod
But no, there is no default flag for some reason. You can not disable the match restart or match start votes on stock ET for some odd reason.

Argh. Thank you … some people find it funny that right before map ends and they are going to lose to call a vote to restart. Perhaps Splash can put in a default switch for those admins who might not want to run shrub when it comes out

I tried to tell him that, 5 times, but he wouldnt take my word for it

(Ark42) #5

Tell who? Shrub? I made him add vote_allow_maprestart in test16 or 17, anyway it works on my server now. Now if we can only address the other 15 bugs in my buglist, especially the nade kicking! :frowning:

(ND80) #6

No, I meant Sphinx. Sphinx is a frequenter of my servers and IRC channel but has his own ET server also. This has been a discussion on my forums for last few days because of idiots calling votes to map restart with 2 minutes left in round. I’m so glad that Shrub added this cvar (along with many others). We’re fortunate to have this mod to test fornow. I’m sure the rest of the admins will love it as much as do.

i may be reading this wrong but…

cant you do a…

set vote_allow_matchreset 0

:???:

(ND80) #8

Yes, you can do that, but it only disables the ability to vote to reset matches. You can still vote to restart the map. These are two different cvars and votes. For whatever reason, the cvar to set vote_maprestart was not included in the original d/l from Activison and Shrub had to add it so that admins could disable this vote.

cheers ND80 ty… for clearing it up for me
