Seperate skins from load outs,

(Hadouken) #1

Load outs and skins should be seperate, I know a ton of players have obtained high tier skins (cobalt, gold, etc) that cannot be used because the loadout is locked to that specific skin.

Instead, skins should be treated as “card sleeves” altering only the appearance of the load out. When opening a case, players instead would receive a random loadout card, with a chance of obtaining a random card sleeve for the merc card obtained. Elite cases could be changed to only contain a card sleeve(skins). Incentivizes Adding more skins to gain more overall revenue.

graphically speaking, the loadout card itself would be blank, and the card sleeves are the actual background of the card, changing the card sleeve ==changing the background of each loadout.

Reduce the price of the specific load out to 10k, as there’s no longer a skin attached to it. Trading up now functions only as a way to reroll a skin, so it’s price should change. Or in its stead, allows players to sell individual loadout cards to one another via steam marketplace, after paying 10 dollars for a trading license (so that people don’t make money solely off a free2play game.

Yes yes and more YES!

I am very fussy about how my toons look in video games, and i would love this. I think the colour schemes on the lower tier cards actually look better than the higher tear ones.

The jungle green weapon camos for Bronze loadout cards just don’t work in an Urban Combat themed game. Well the work they just don’t look as snazzy imo.

Lead is the new Bronze thus summer.

@MissMurder is this something that would be possible to implement?

(Glot) #4

we basically have 7 same loadouts
with bronze, silver, gold and now cobalt skins.
so its like we have 28 loadouts, but we dont =)

this whole idea with skins+loadaout was bad from the beginning.
separate them.

now.

pleeeze :>

People have been asking for this, and weapon and augment customization, since the beginning of the development. And then we got the loadout cards. So no, it’s not going to happen.

(Glot) #6

we know that, but i like to rage from time to time on the forumz…

(Runeforce) #7

 I was not talking to you.

(Treboras) #8

I fully agree! Seperate them, it makes everything easier for everyone!

(ToonBE) #9

This has been said too many times already… We will see in the next months. It is a crucial factor that needs to change.

(Backuplight) #10

I’m hoping SD have been quiet on this front because they’re already working on something, but it isn’t far enough along to talk about yet.

Card sleeves FTW! Luvit. Let’s also add stickers as drops wherein separate pieces of gear can be added on top of your card sleeve. Fuhr example, a mustache can be a sticker or a pirate hat sticker. Yes, yes?
I also want to change proxy’s welding mask with something else.

(Hadouken) #12

In combination with skins being sleeves only, all skins from lead and iron could be pushed up into bronze tier skins instead, removes clutter from the current amount of different loadouts.

welp

I actually kind of like this idea. However. To those people that bought Elite cases and have 2 Cobalt cards of the same merc, Wouldn’t that be a waste?

Also there should be a credit price to put those skins on the loadouts.

Let’s say 15k to put a gold skin on a loadout etc.

(Jostabeere) #15

It would kill the thrill of collecting and trying to get the best with the best skin. And since skins are only cosmetic, they shouldn’t be in the first row. Or in the second. Skins would ruin the aspect of buying elite cases, so if they gonna be implemented, then only for the same prize or even more than one elite case. But then people would be crying and making threads and polls about “Make skins cheaper, they’re only cosmetic”, so I’m totally against the skin system like you want it to be, sorry.

The chances of getting a skin wouldn’t increase though? The thing is, I’, pretty sure most people with cobalts of the same merc would be happier, as they can use their two different cobalt skins for a specific/preferred loadout card, as opposed to being forced to use sub-optimal loadouts.

(Hadouken) #17

The skin system I’m referring to, still has the same RNG mechanic of the previous system. W

You seem to have misunderstood me, I’m not saying to seperate skins into a seperate shop, I’m saying to seperate skins by having them equipable onto loadouts.

Skins would still only be acquirable through cases, and If I remember correctly, I’m pretty sure I suggested that elite cases would only contain the skins (or card sleeves, in my suggestion), thus making Elite Skin Cases more worth their money, as they don’t have a shitty loadout attached to it.

(Backuplight) #18

The devs seem pretty tight lipped about what may or may not happen with regards to this sort of stuff. I really can’t see the existing system bringing in a sustainable income for the game, but since they’re the only ones who can see the real statistics on the truth of that, we’ll just have to wait and see. Cosmetics can be a big source of income and are something I’d definitely be more positive towards picking up - elite cases I have never, and likely will never, throw money at. Just not worth it as they are currently.

Skins right now are just a “side bonus” - people tend to want a specific loadout and go for that, and just use whatever skin it happens to come with. The idea of a ‘card sleeve’ for skins is pretty neat.

(moonlitAbility) #19

so… I actually don’t mind the RNGness. What can I say, im a bit of a gambler, and if it were super easy to get the exact loadouts and looks i wanted for every merc, it would be one less thing to work towards.

That said, in a super RNG based system, I believe you need the ability to trade/sell somehow. Ive opened up 2 cobalts in my career, a phantom (no katana) and a vasili. hate both classes. but if i could trade my vasili to someone with a kira or a class i play that would be awesome

(SteelMailbox) #20

I dont care, As long as it wont take away our rarity cards
