Just trying to monitor how well Brink is selling

Currently NUMBER ONE for steam, overtaking portal 2 and the sale items. Also It is Number 1 on direct2Drives Top 10, which is amazing. And this is still with 2 weeks to go!

On Amazon, figures (27.4.) are not so well:

Thats good I guess. 220000 pre-orders puts it at about half of total ETQW sales already, if the number of accounts made was a good measure of sales.

Going great on Steam though (6th atm)… Portal 2 is best seller (surprise surprise), but Other than Arma II (on sale) it’s the next highest selling item after DarkSpore (which releases in 9 hours so that explains that).
Any figures on it’s D2D success?

Good to see awesome games like this sell over the average casual stuff.
And obviously good sales leads to DLC and maybe even Brink 2 some day. :smiley:

Suprised to see it holding up to L.A. Noire. But from Gears 3 we see what betas can do for games. :stuck_out_tongue: Although it would have sold good anyways.

Gears 3 is a franchise… it was always going to be an uphill battle.

Isnt it 23 in PC games?

And 88 in UK bestsellers (all platforms)

32 for UK Xbox 360

or am i looking at a wrong page?

Also looks like in the US its doing average aswell, placing 21 in the amazon.com bestsellers chart

Can someone just check this is accurate before i add this to OP, 2 conflicting figures = someones wrong

Once the ArmA II sale is done and once the darkspore reviews come out and people realize that it sucks (it may be good but I’m doubting it) Brink should be #2 next to portal.

I’m actually surprised, Portal 2 is the kinda game that would get pirated to oblivion but it seems to be selling.

I just looked on the description page of the pc version on amazon. (under product details)

Maybe these figures are outdated.

But the good steam position is much more important for PC sells anyway.

Ah yea, i think they must be updated like weekly or monthly as the link it provides to show its 181 shows it at 81, or maybe its a miss-type that they put a 1 infront? God knows lol. But yea, agreed

Portal 2 is a masterpiece, its critically acclaimed everywhere and the co-op portion is half the game, and it may be hacked as of yet but i think they can only play within themselves, ie not with legit users. Hence the high sales.

It would be impressive if Brink would hit #2, after all it is is a niche/complex game disguised as user-friendly for consoles. A week later, Witcher 2 releases which should take that #2 spot imo, also that week LA Noire comes out for consoles, so I wouldnt get my hopes that high, still, its pleasant to see it sells well, tho we all know that once consoles and casuals are done with the campaign once or twice, itll be just us all over again :wink:

Note: It’s not just holding up to LA Noire. It’s kicking LA Noire’s butt. There are more Brink preorders on PS3 (much lower Brink on 360) than there are LAN preorders on 360, by those charts.

That’s because regardless of what the RIAA and MPAA would have you believe, piracy does not have a major correlation to sales in either direction.

Gears is one of the most popular IPs I know of. People LOVE Gears. And the current preorder sales reflect that.

I don’t think that matters as much. More likely would be that Brink is still a FPS. FPS games still sell a lot. No multiplayer scares some people off when it comes to L.A. Noire, and it definitely isn’t the next GTA game.
