I honestly hope that the ranking scheme QW plans to use will be nothing like the one battlefield has. Else I wont bother with cheating (never have never will), I simply wont play it

Who cares about ranks and stats anyway? Anyone threatening to boycott the game over that issue is clearly not interested in the actual game.

this is the first time id software are doing a game that will have similar stat tracking to BF
I’d take a look at how EA approached this and then just replace the name EA with id software, as it’s pretty common tactic to replicate how others in the field are doing it especially when it’s your first time.
Ranked servers will pretty much be limited to the very big hosting providers who can sign agreements that NOTHING will be changed or altered on the servers, the whole point of official stat tracking is to keep it as legit as possible to show a true ladder of player skills.
The last thing that will happen is joe blogs being able to host a official stat tracking server on any machine he wishes, it’ll end up with people having to rent off the big companies and you won’t be able to do anything to the servers like custom maps etc unless id says you can.
that’s the obvious way to look at it from a business stand point anyway

That has to be the lamest thing in any game that you need points just to get your weepons. After I get all of my weapons I wont need to use exploits or cheats after that. You dont see that BULL S!!! In Tribes, Tribes 2, Unreal Tournament, Halo and A SHI! LOAD OF OTHER FPS GAMES NOW DO YOU …NO!!!
That’s why I Sold BF2 and BF2142 on Ebay so I could retrieve some of my money back from those lame ass games!

Well if you put it like that then cheating would be wrong. Other players certanly didnt deserve such treatment.
But I never said that he should cheat directly against other ppl. He should only cheat in a way that would trick the stats system (cheats that allow him higher rank and give him unlocks). This does indirectly cheat other players as well, but not in a way they would notice or in a way that would ruin the game experience for them. It does however, ruin the purpose of EA’s global ripoff stat system.

Not really… I always got field unlocks but never used them ( didnt care about them ) I only cared about the weapons that I had for the Support class. Also I also had about 5 unlocks that I never used because I only played Support. I could care less about the other classes in BF2142. As for the cd keys… ya they are good cuz I sold them over 3 mos ago on ebay. So there was never no real problem with them otherwise I would have got emails from the guys that bought the games from me.

Noone was forcing you to play BF, so if you didn’t like the fact that you have to play to unlock weapons, then you could have played something else. Instead you cheated and made the game even worst for other, so your just as lame as EA itself, worst imo.
