SD WILL OUR MERCS BE FIXED??

(Tommy) #1

I have spent a lot of money in this game. And, I hate to have spent money on characters that are unfairly weak. SD, can we expect fixes to: Phantom, Thunder and Rhino?
Community, what do you think? Should these mercs be left alone??

(Tommy) #2

@MissMurder @Watsyurdeal @Sniff @Amerika @Faraleth @Jaeger What do ya’ll think? :slight_smile:

(Tommy) #3

@Faraleth nice video with @kAndyREW by the way!!

I can see Phantom and Thunder getting tweaks in the future, but, the truth is Rhino is a low reward, low risk merc, I don’t think he’ll get any buffs anytime soon as he is essentially the Hugo of this game.

Phantom can be buffed to have full invisibility as long as he has to decloak to attack an enemy, and Thunder’s nades just need to have better consistency as well as a better way to tell who is/isn’t concussed.

A simple AOE effect is all I think is needed, the line of sight style of flashbangs just will not work for this game.

(Faraleth) #5

Phantom could definitely use a better utility or some team-based improvements, while Thunder’s concussion nade needs to be greatly improved to be honest. Was in a game earlier against Thunder’s, and I never once got flashed because they are far too easy to avoid all together. :frowning:

ps. Thanks, I’m sure there will be more vids

I’ve been summoned apparently.

Phantom needs something to make him more of a teamplayer, or just anything that doesn’t make him the meatshield with a gun he is right now. Something, at this point I don’t even care what it is as long as it picks him up from the Useless-pit.

Thunder just needs more concustency (pun intended) with his nades and more efficiency. Half the time you can’t tell if the group is actually being concussed or not and it just got worse with the removal of cooking. Seriously, why did they remove cooking concunades? Then there is the fact that I’m leaning more towards what @LCTR mentioned in his video; Whether it might be better to swap Fragger and Thunder with each other in terms of health and speed. The more I think about it the more it makes sense really.

When it comes to Rhino, I would honestly say he is in a somewhat okay spot. He fills the niche role he is built for and does a good job at it. The loadouts are just badly balanced if you ask me.

I agree with this 100%

At least then Thunder would be able to rush in while enemies are concussed to use them to their full effect.

Rhino needs a nerf.

Phantom and Thunder need a buff and be out of the question for griefers. Thunder’s stupid ff crap is just plain annoying.

I agree with you about Phantom and Thunder, that makes since.

But, I would like to know why you think Rhino needs a nerf?
I have heard multiple professional players state that he is a bit weak and I find it hard to survive on my own with him in most situations. Have you found his hidden potential? Would love to hear your opinion!

All you need is one stoker, nader or fletcher (maybe one thunder, if they fix him :stuck_out_tongue: ) and that strategy doesn’t work so good.
Plus it only works in a few indoor close quarters situations. I just think it would be nice if you could survive as rhino by yourself kinda like any other merc in the game (except for thunder of course :stuck_out_tongue: ) @JJMAJR

(Tommy) #13

just my opinion!

(JJMAJR) #14

But, they are going to add Turtle, which would be able to protect the corner campers and make backup spots to make sure a molotov doesn’t destroy the combo very effectively.

(Tommy) #15

That’s a good point. Maybe SD is waiting till they put turtle in the game. Good luck to them with balancing turtle

(Tommy) #16

@JJMAJR just out of curiosity, who is your favorite merc? I think mine personally has got to be red eye!

(JJMAJR) #17

Also, it takes a lot of grenades from Nader to safely take out the players sitting in the healing stations. Pheonix could also complement the Rhino by the latter giving a place for the former to cover them and give them multiple healing pulses and revives.

Rhino just needs a good complement in his team in order to do much damage, but when he does, everything dies.

(JJMAJR) #18

Redeye sucks, but I like him.
Personally, my favorite is Bushwacker. It’s fun to play with him when using the Bishlock, even if the gun sucks, his turret is a good complement and emphasizes intelligence over reaction time.

I also like playing snipers, but only if they are complemented with a cloak, because otherwise it’s another game where the first hit wins. Finally, this is also the reason why I like Redeye, but I also realize that he’s pretty weak as the rest of the team might be unable to work well with him.

Redeye should be able to track other players through their trails, which could be easily represented by having an algorithm that would check if someone was in his spotting cone recently instead of at the moment.

(banteringTurnip) #19

Rhino is fine.
Phantom needs to be more objective based.
Thunder idk do not have him.
Redeye, Arty seem a bit weak vs. everything.

The blishlock is underrated, I enjoy it as well! (maybe once trading comes out I can trade you for my cobalt blishlock bushwhacker!)
