A cooldown bar maybe that needs to charge kinda like the sprint bar in W:ET, but no it shouldn’t be reduced to a desperate measure. The increased spread is enough to question whether you spend a coin on it and sacrifice another purchase without handicapping it even further to make it go in the opposite direction of no one wanting to choose it at all.
(SD) why no sprint and fire?
Coins are not a cost, they’re already in excess as it is. Especially true for general abilities. The spread needs to be so high it’s only useful on occasions. Right now I have the feeling you’re just trying to turn it into a completely different game.
Tbh yes, there are too many coins, and that makes your choices a little frivolous. But at least making it a rank 5 ability would put slightly more weight on the choice.
The only thing Rank 5 would restrict is that no low level players would be able to use it making it all the more abused by the high level players. You can save points from lower levels and use them to unlock every Rank 5 ability if you wanted so restricting such an ability by rank does nothing other than causing even more imbalance.
EDIT: To be completely honest the rank system in Brink serves absolutely no purpose other than to cause problems with your rank being too high when trying to play with friends. It’s not like you would ever see a Rank 3 tournament and restricting games by rank only divides an already meager community.
I see what you’re saying, but I don’t view it as this big game breaking ability that it’s being perceived to be. With a high spread and a limited use bar that needs time to replenish, I still think Combat Intuition is far more game affecting than this would be.
I agree about Combat Intuition and think it should be removed entirely. There is also the issue of having your fire pause when transitioning between hip-fire and ADS which is more troublesome than not being able to fire while sprinting, at least for me.
In the end I can see a feature like firing while sprinting being added but given how accuracy bloom works currently I see it being pointless in the majortiy of all situations given how you can only sprint forwards and any SMART movement will cancel a reload or possible weapon’s fire.
Well, let me put it this way it will be just as accturate as sliding and firing or vaulting and climbing and firing or jumping down something and firing or wall hopping and firing. And folks do that constantly I don’t see how everyone is calling it useless when it’s the same idea, shooting while in motion. That’s the point of the movement system period.
Sprint and fire wouldn’t work with a controller. Shooting moving people with such an imprecise device is hard enough, especially when you are moving yourself. That’s why ironsights are so popular in Slow Person Shooters - they slow the action down so people can feel like they’re being tactical, and at the same time the game is less demanding.
you don’t iron sight while sprinting obviously, and it doesn’t matter what platform either. It’s hilarious the PC guys try and make fun of xbox then ask for a xbox controller. give me a break.
