You can sprint and reload and sprint and throw grenades so why can’t we sprint while firing? There’s nothing worse in this free flowing game than trying to catch someone doing a carry objective or just running from you in general and needing to stop to fire then start running again as they slide or mantle or duck around a corner. Can we get this ability?
(SD) why no sprint and fire?
You don’t need to stop to fire, just fire (if you’re sprinting) and you’ll automatically stop (sprinting).
Admittedly it’s been a long time since I played ET but I never understood why ET players think they need to be able to hold the sprint key down at the same time as holding the fire button down, you don’t need to specifically stop doing one to do the other and not being able to do both simultaneously doesn’t make you immobile.
Not what I meant at all, I didn’t say that you need to stop when you fire is annoying I said the fact that you DO stop when you fire is annoying, I want to continue running if im chasing someone. Obviously hip fire only.
Sorry, I mis-understood you …
And if you’re pressing your forward key when you start firing do you not carry on moving forward ??
You do but you walk, I want to sprint… what don’t you understand about this lol?
Never even gave it a thought, it’s how it always has been in all the shooters I’ve played over the years.
Yup, not seen otherwise since quite a long time, not that much of an issue. Makes you chose the better moment to shoot, sometimes
I’m sorry not stopping period, you stop sprinting. I just don’t understand the application of the other sprint perks if you cannot also sprint and fire your weapon (generally your most used ability period).
I believe that it was an awarded perk in crysis 2. (A great game a lot of fun, too bad the support was terrible and even the offline play was buggy.)
Sure but in comparison is it not a valid ability to request versus the other perks? It’s like they gave us two out of three perks for a fight in movement except the main mode of attack.
Have you ever tried to sprint as fast as you can while firing an assault rifle?
Anyway, the reason they do this is because it’s an obviously insanely powerful ability that everyone would take anyway.
Reloading and nade cooking while sprinting are not even close to being able to shoot while sprinting.
I think it’s fine for you to make the request for a sprinting and shooting ability.
But to act like it should automatically be there because the other two are is kind of silly to say the least.
If they did have the ability “sprinting fire” it would have to make you shot spread Massive.
Sure you can shoot while sprinting… but you might shoot yourself.
It’d be super powerful otherwise.
Of course the spread would be worse but cause damage none the less.
I’d be happy with the addition of an ability that allowed sprinting fire with a massive spread penalty. I probably wouldn’t take it as my aim is bad enough already
but it doesn’t sound terrible.
And by “walk” you mean “run” I presume, because you’re either running or sprinting in Brink.
Either way shooting whilst running or shooting whilst running a bit faster doesn’t seem like much of an issue to me, but then as I said, it’s a long time since I played ET and shooting while running has been plenty good enough for me in every other game I’ve played.
As to why you can reload and throw 'nades while sprinting but not shoot, no idea, it does seem a bit silly to allow 2 out of 3, maybe the answer is spread, they didn’t want to have to add a 3rd layer of spread as I presume there is a spread modifier for running as opposed to standing still, they’d have to add another modifier for running fast as opposed to running normally.
mmmh, bad aim + heavy spread is good, actually
(in fact, it’s not bad)
It’s bad aim + no recoil which is bad
IMO, that is stupid and annoying. Like CS.
in CS, you can scope, jump and FIRE! I hated that game.
If I recall correctly, we could sprint and hip-fire in ETQW. ADS would break sprint though.
Sprint + hip-fire, I agree.

Wow… you just love making things difficult super I want to sound smarter than I am man that’s what I meant, thanks for your “input”.
