SD Server - Request for a player ban

As most people who play on the Splashdamage Et server kinow, I play there every night as do many other fine and excellent persons. However, recently one particular player has done nothing but degrade the otherwise excellent quality of the regular crowd.

Hellmanatee (sometimes using other names - just now Tiffany I think).

He shoot team members until they give him the panzer. He shoots people who get in his way. But most of all he spends his entire time insulting his own team and the opposition. It’s a non-stop barrage of pathetic behaviour from him.

Frankly I’m considering giving up playing on the best ET server around due to this utter sad case. Something needs to be done. :banghead:

Hmm, I was on there but didn’t realize it was that bad (probably because I focus too much on the game to read the chat :P).

Idd Al. Should be an instant ban for anyone tho who randomly health strips (unless your a medic tbh :o) and the callvoting should be setup for both teams to vote, not just one… its always more than likely the one you need/want to kick is on the other team…

Thanks digibob. To be honest I wasn’t expecting this to necessarily result in action being taken (I know one person’s degradation in quality is another’s minor irritant - Sauron, like BB and other people, is sensible enough to just ignore the chat where needed, a skill I really do need to learn myself), I was hoping that this would at least nudge awareness in some of the regulars as to his worthlessness. Bandit was saying on-server last night that he may be an arse but he’s a good player. He certainly tops the XP often enough but I fail to see why we should put up with his actions just for that reason. People like Brev, BB, Silent Rage etc manage to top the XP without spending their waiting-to-spawn-time telling their team how much they suck, for example.

I’m going to skip me ET tonight so that I’m not “angry arse man” on the server. :slight_smile: There’s no point complaining about a player being an idiot if you then spend more time moaning about him on the server than playing, heh. I seem to have accidently addicted meself to Knights Of The Old Republic anyways…

Oh yeah, I agree with pgh too, ban pgh! :smiley: When someone loops a rifle grenade from side of the map to the other and kills me it’s just not on and deserves solid punishment! :slight_smile: And that Zoooomee keeps hitting me with that Panzer, not to mention all those people planting mines I stand on…

I’ve had reports from other people of this person being a pain too, I have his/her ip, but I don’t intend to ban them until i see for myself, i haven’t been on much the past week due to work and stuff, but i’ll hopefully have more time this week.

While we’re on the subject, I have encountered a recurring problem on the SD server also. Whenever I join the server and select a team, regardless of what team, the people on the other team are forever shooting me… rifles, smg’s, panzers… you name it, they’re using it to kill me. Quite frankly, I’m sick of it. I’m sick of joining in and getting shot… sometimes, they even wait long enough for me to get out and kill a few people, but sure enough, it always comes down to the same old thing, they shoot and kill me. I dont wish for serious action to be taken against the regular players on the SD server, but perhaps we could look at making some sort of a patch that makes it impossible for me to die? Its just that quite clearly, this is all wrong. I should not be killed, nor even shot at… It got to the stage the other night where I even found myself killing myself involuntarily… I couldn’t handle it, so I callvoted to kick me, which resulted in me being banned by myself from said server. Could we also rectify this asap?

No doubt you’ve all had a great laugh at the expense of my virtual death, but its time now for you all to accept the truth of the matter and get working on a server/client-side patch thats official and makes it so I can’t die.
