The campaign? This is a multiplayer game. The campaign is there just because, well just because. It isn’t really there, just MP with bots.

yes, this is a multiplayer game…where we play constantly on campaign missions…

I think the real reason they did it like that was to not have to spend so much memory/resources on a single player campaign so they could focus on other things. Sadly, i think most of that memory went into character customization (clothing). actual in game game play can never be sacrificed for the sake of dress up.
