um, these are patches…
and shots of GTK radiant
Screenshots of what you're working on right now
Cool. Looks very X-lab-y… you know, from RtCW (if you played it). Would be good for a secret military installation, secret labs, secret secret secret, etc.
@ BXpress. Nice patch-work. I know that you said this little hallway was just for fun, but I feel like I gotta nitpick… just a little. So here goes; the small cylinderical patches (on the sidewalls) could be left without… Instead of taking the risk of bumping up your fps\r_speeds, why not just leave that effect to be done by some nice texture-work? Just a thought… no biggie.
Otherwise, it definately looks sharp. It would be well-suited for a game like q3 like you mentioned.
:chef:
well its just, i LOVE detailmapping. u can see it @ my JK2 prefab on www.pcgamemods.com !

Im now working on a 007 map pack
this will be my first one: Libary or stack dont know yet if i want to include basement
some radiant screenies:
I dunno, Goldeneye mp maps were always kinda simplistic and devoid of detail. I think that first sp level where you storm the soviet dam would be an awesome mp map, with a little creativity.
Yeah that looks sweet.
I can never think what to put in when I’m detailing :disgust:
“we need more crates!”
Couple more screenies (still early, mind you :)) These were taken in ‘fast’ graphics settings, so the textures look somewhat ‘low res’.

In the 2nd one, how does the damage look? Better? Worse? The same? I know i still got some sharp corners there (which im working on), and the edges are still too ‘clean’, i just want to know if im going in the right direction.
Anyway, just thought id share. Feel free to criticize, i wont get cranky, i promise
StormShadow, that is looking very sweet. Can’t wait to play it.
As far as the “damaged” look goes: it seems most of your damage was done with 2-point clipping, which ends up giving the rubble a very 2-D feel to it. Try some 3-point clips to push this into the third dimension.
Stormshadow… Your map is looking great. The damaged effect is looking better for the overall feel is more random in nature than your last attempt. Though, what rgoer mentioned is a good point. Try some 3-point clipping to get that sheared effect on the walls.
You can take a look at the ‘destruction’ map for rtcwor the custom map ‘breakout’ for rtcw to get an idea of what I’m talking about.
Good luck and good job.
Hmm, right… it only seems damaged on 2 dimensions. Ill work on that for the first beta.
Thanks
Love those spiderwebs, hummer. I can’t wait to play this. I’m all stoked on Indiana Jones shit right now… Just got the DVD collection a few weeks ago–I hadn’t seen “Raiders” in widescreen since it was in the theater!
hey. awesome looking maps. i was just curious- are all of you making custom textures for them? i’ve had troubles putting together a nice looking irregular cut stone type of texture, but other than that i have made all my own. i don’t have any shots to share at the moment, but i was just curious. also, how many of you are working in a team on a map?
I am currently mapping our office space, far from done, but here’s some pics [click on them for larger version.]:

well, maybe I can show you something real interresting in a few months.
One of the things that I am currently strugling with is sizing. If I make a table at the size where I would be looking down on it, its’ not possible to crawl under it (which I can for real at my office.) So, I have decided to make things bigger and thereby the playability is better (IMHO.)
