Yeah, I’m just ripping the thread topic from the q3w forums, but hey–I figured we could use something like this too, right?

In any case, here’s what I’ve got going on right now… the very preliminary stages of a map, set in a rural village in southern France during Operation Anvil (the much maligned–everybody seemed to think at the time that charging straight into Berlin was the way to go, rather than pussy-footing around Marseilles for a month or two–campaign to liberate the south of France)

You might want to take it easy on some of the detail there…don’t forget about performance.

rgoer: The wood looks a bit roundish. Did you use patches for those? Perhaps flattening out some of the effect would be more appropiate for that setting. (Btw, I know some areas of that part of the world do have buildings that look like that, but to me it looks almost cartoonish.)

Very nice work rgoer, I’m curious as to how you acheived the rounded wood look too. Did you use phong shading?

bx if u modded all the guns an stuff u could make a cell shaded war in the future type thing, an that would be cool!

just curious BX did you achive that look by textures alone or have you added the _celshader key to yer worldspawn.
Been playing with celshading for E.T for a few weeks but cant get the right look :frowning:
Although that crane you put up for download looks sweet in Cel mode :)TNX

It doesn’t look like q3map2 cel shading to me.
q3map2 puts black lines outside the edges, so the lines ‘float’.
Looks very nice though. :slight_smile:

its not cel-shading, its just a black texture^^

Small bunker from Tank. First, brushwork in GTK radiant, then Export to ase and - destroyed version of bunker done in 3dsmax.
