Savage ET Season 2/3!

Cant get onto Savage ET Forums until I accept an email but I cant access it from here. So, want to find out opinions from this side of ET players and lettings others know about the league itself.

For starters, I want to thank and congratulate the SavET League team and admins for a well organised and handled season, went alot smoother and more fun than the first season to say the least, as well as a big props to all the clans and players involved for making it enjoyable. For those who dont have a clue what im on about? Check Here for information or pop onto IRC QuakeNET @ #Savage.ET. Note: This was the end of Season 2. Season 3 no doubt will be starting within the coming 2 months i’d imagine and if you are a new clan or an old one lookin for new things I would highly advise signing up.

My main concern for this season though, and the reason I was going to post to the Sav forums was the tables. Afaik its a 2 up / 2 down situation and after a quick look at the tables and watching a few demos and from playing certain clans the way its going to work out isnt looking too good. For starters, I play for LSR and started off at Divison 3. We had a straight win season apart from 1 match against sSs who came in at top spot with a 9 game straight win season. This, and the fact ALL our games were won in under nearly 10/15 minutes kinda shows that the divison was a tad unfair. So, off the 2 of us go to Division 3, but, leaving fear! behind. Now, from playing fear in the first match (noobs they were!) we won pretty easy but over the coming weeks (and no doubt 24/7 praccy from them) we played them numerous times in scrimms etc and theyve certainly gave us a run for our money, mostly shafting us all ways but normally, and I THINK, a 50/50 each win/lose against each other. This for one causes concern as this WILL leave another Season of Divison 3 having a straight non beatable clan for 9 games or whatever which will be unfair and unfun for the whole lot… again, the same is going to go for eQ and KiL i’d imagine. So, I gave the groups a quick look over, guessed where each clan may end up and figured i’d post what i’d reconmend would be a fair, fun season for everyone…

I dont know how many clans are and have signed up, as well as who so this is just going off of what is currently on the website already. The 8, 10 and 10 seems reasonable unless ofc 2 Div 1 level clans sign up (hopefully :D). But, anyways, would like to hear responses from the clannies of the above mentioned in hope to get another well run and fun filled Season 3!!

Note: Check Here for Admin Demos and Here for my person POV demos. (Got Weeks 1-9 in both Seasons on HD, Not upping Season 1 (See admin demos under [83rd] instead) but Seaon 2’s will be up as soon as)

2nd Note: UAT and DOW have been removed. Afaik both of these clans withdrew themselfs from the next season. Any other clans known to have left or whatever, please let me know. Also, gonna have predictions etc up for this season, gonna propose about shoutcasting and some sort of WTV if its availible too. (These 2 depend on a/ If allowed too and b/ Whenever I order me new PC. Dont like the idea of shoutcasting games in front of the rents eh, tho, the upstairs p2 400mhz might just hold as spectator/shoutcast server… :wink: )

I don’t think UAT will be playing season 3 tho, so replace that with a -NEW- :slight_smile:

I think The Infamous (my lot) will be entering Savage League, but we’re just scrimming at the moment to work out tactics and stuff. Of those listed we’ve only scrimmed BEER, Zero and Fear. We beat BEER and Fear and drew with Zero, so not sure where that puts us.

We’re on the look out for scrims btw, so if anyone wants to pop into #theinfamous and speak to Max we’d be much obliged.

Would be nice to see you guys in at it. Was hoping for yourselfs and [BoD] to sign up this time round. Probs be best coming in at Div 2 and if your Div 1 material work your way up :> I know zero. tho have just went on a recruiting spree so expect a new team for this season… \o/.

Salteh: Anything to stop ya going down innit :wink: - but, I know Div 3 would be a laugh for you lot too, soo, hence the reason I think Div 2 is yours.

Bare in mind peeps tho I have nothing to do with Savage ET. This is just my opinions.

BiO are a v.strong side imo, especially with playing in Clanbase a lot, wouldn’t be surprised if they were challenging near the top of Div.1. But then BoD are also looking quite strong, as I hear they beat BiO a short while ago. Guess it’ll all depend on whether or not they decide to sign up…

So you’re suggesting only 8 sides in Division 1? That would be a shame imo to limit the number of games, mind you, maybe my clan should be getting active in Clanbase. I think we’re quite fortunate to have finished in 5th this season, we were fully expecting widespread pastings as our tactics are quite literally non-existent for the majority of the time.

Yeah, I’d say last season when my lot went up from Division 2, we weren’t what you’d call a ‘Division 1’ clan, I’m just grateful I got the chance to play against some of the top clans in the UK atm. Shame if 2 clans were denied that opportunity just because they weren’t deemed to be good enough. I mean, we did alright in the end. Mid-table mediocrity/respectability.

Guess it all depends on who signs up.

But seriously it is a good tournament and can only get better with more teams entering, thanks again to all the savage admins and the ppl involved in making it work .

Yep my mistake getting confused with RTCW, but unfortunatly we’re inactive in CB at the moment so no easy game for you guys there :wink:

I like BoD so I won’t comment either way - instead I will keep a dignified silence and look forward to our first competitive meeting… :slight_smile:
