well i figure if you are going to make it, I might as well make suggestions:

if bringing back the covert ops class:

  1. make sniping worthwhile again. 1 headshot kills.
  2. weaken the sten but get rid of overheating, or at least make it so you can get off half a clip before it does overheat.
  3. make it so server ops can restrict player classes as well as weapons - thinking of ND80 himself on this one.
  4. make the smoke have a moderately larger radius.
  5. lvl 4 CO is worthless, IMO, how about making that the 1 headshot kill.

general:

  1. bring back the original values for mp40 and thompson.
  2. another tram map
  3. another destruction style map. in fact i’d love to see cp games again.
  4. don’t try to fux with the nade physics again
  5. bring back the original ET german voice. hearing him say panzerfaust still makes me smile
  6. although doom3 didn’t have the object interaction level that HL2 has, i’d like to see a more interactive enviroment, at least to the extent that the engine can supply.
  7. for some reason saving favorite servers only worked like 1 in 5 times for ET. might just be my comp but its very annoying.
  8. player pushing should be standard not be added thru a mod.
  9. im a stat whore, I would like to have the game save stats to my machine and be able to see stats for my entire existance under a particular name not just for that round or have to goto a website to check them.
  10. i miss the venom but can understand why it was removed in ET. would like to see it in singleplayer though

lol that is a really bad idea the panzer is already easy enough to use if u want to get a lot of kills making it any bigger will just make it so easy to completely own everybody. atm i get about 50/60 kills on fd, with a larger damage area all those near misses i got before would die too raising it to 70/80 kills a game which is way too many.

True lvl 4 is worthless…but headshot kill is way too powerful. I suggest a increased snipr damage. Body damage 63 (allowing 2 shot kills for any non med not atincreased battle sense health) and headshot damage 126 (same deal)

I think hes trying to say that in HL2 you’re supposed to be able to interactive with the map like shoot at stuff and it actually does something to the map instead of just making marks on a model , which doom3 doesn’t have… although I dunno if hl2 has that / thats what he means

Don’t, no camper game please, all a 1-shot-kill weapon does is attracting campers

The Sten is fine, it does get off half a clip before overheating and it’s noticable more accurate than the other SMGs

Restricting weapons is OK to avouid a Panzerfaust heavy game but please don’t restrict the available classes. I am as pissed of a team with 3 camping sniping CovOps as everybody but that’s life or does anybody think that these players all of a sudden become good teamplayers if they are forced to play medic?

No, what is wrong with both teams having the same weapon code, historical or not? I think ETPros change of the US rifle was really good to help balance both teams.

Why does everybody want’s to nerf the poor poor medic? The Medic alone isn’t that strong, a group with a good medic in support is strong! Leave us medics alone please :moo:

  1. physics : dead corpses flying flat in the air sux. but i do hope it ll change with doom3 anyway.
  2. soldiers using flamers should have a fireproof suit. souds obvious to me. If not fully fireproof, at least 80-90%.
  3. most players think they 're leet, whereas they’re only using the medic class, for a well known reason. they suck when using another. they all start with medic just to get light weapons and battle sense faster than any other, without teamworking, this is annoying. i know what im talking about and this must change. maybe get a penalty for not reviving a dead teammate next to them or healing squad. i hate nerfing, but maybe focusing on the teamwork play and penalty would help/solve the problem. in fact, being a medic in rtcw was more rewarding, showing real skills imo.
  4. closecombat with weapon’s stick (? is it ?), knock down foes like in MoH.
  5. no more trickjumps. who can do this irl anyway ?? is this quake ?

i think there should be more levels, up to level 5

covert opp level 5 has the ability to use the victims wepon, is a good idea, i think that all of the victims special weapons should be took too, like health packs and syringes you can use on both teams, to add to the ilusion, but only on level 5, they would all be in weapon bank 7

that would maybe make the cvops too powerful? any work they did

level 4 is for cvop in disquise can hear enemy vsays

i must say I couldn’t disagree more with you. I’ll refer you to something i remember reading from the RTCW manual(I believe):

for the orginal wolfenstein,(pre Doom one) ID planned on having it so you could steal uniforms and intricate stuff like that but ultimatly dropped those idea because they felt it made the game less fun.(the way i intrepreted it)

they were right back then and I would love to see the CO class eliminated and just give sniping back to soldiers. I just don’t want to see this game get anymore diverse because it will start taking away from the action drastically.

I do like the idea of a leveling system. splash damage did a great job of implementing it but there is alot of room for improvment. IE:

Making the experience needed to advance levels MUCH greater.
Don’t let the highest level take away from other classes basic skills: FO-easily spotting COs, Battle Sense-spoting eng mines- takes away from CO class too, Soldiers at lvl4 lose out on light weapons lvl 4 benefits
less damage reduction % from adrenaline
many others too but giving suggestions for an already completed game(ET) is rather pointless.

but im sure you guys are already thinking of ways of improving the system(I’m still assuming you are developing the MP version)

i won’t leave medic alone. one ammo clip ?, come on, you get ammo easily from Field ops, ammo cabs, or weapons on the ground. none ? so what ?, stand back and do your medic job instead of rushing like a rambo.

Also add the mining finding labrador class, it could wander round at knee level and find all those mines a covert should do but cant be arsed with it. Give it level 3 fang attack that prevent the player from moving forwards and backwards and a final jump hello attack that ends up with his paw in your goolies again doing the same thing. If it comes across a enemy dog then all stops and sniffing takes place etc etc.
