RTCW & RTCW-ET and a Geforce FX 5800 Ultra

Hello, This is my first time here. Got a small problem. Recently I purchased a GFFX-5800 Ultra. I just did a clean install of WIndows XP (SP1), Loaded up the NVIDIA 44.03 Official Drivers, RTCW 1.41 and all the applied updates.

Here is my dilemma, I have my GFFX settings maxxed out. When I play RTCW or RTCW-ET, it shows up all Anti-Aliesed. These jagged lines are driving me crazy. I also loaded up UT2003, and that runs AMAZING. I use to have a GF4ti 4600 running the 43.50 NVIDIA Drivers and RTCW ran fine.

My machine specs are pretty simple. Pentium Xeon 2.4GHz (Supermicro MB), 768MB of RDRAM, Audigy Sound Card.

And just to add, I have all the settings maxxed out in RTCW as well. Dynamic lights, Long Distance View ect ect…

I play the the game on a 17" Apple Cinema Display 1024x768. I have all the AA Settings maxed out. 8X AA, 8xAF, Texture sharpening set, Comformant Clamp is on as well. My refresh rate is 60Hz

I turned off all the settings as well and worked my up from there.

Enemy Territory does the same thing. It just seems like those 2 games.

I also play BF1942 and UT2003, these games do not seem to be affected, they look amazing on my card.

And yes, I do have a good set of Sony headphones to play my game  b/c the 5800 is a dust buster, LOL

Thanks for all the help,

Anthony

First, Im surprised you dont have a sony 24" crt : )

nice rig you got there,

If Im reading your post correctly - you cant get AA to remove the jaggies in ET or wolf ? but all other games look smooth edged?

sounds like you know your way around the driver settings … did you apply AA to opengl box or just DX ? et is opengl - does q3 have same issue, if you have it installed ?

try running et at 640x480 as a test ?

Yeah, I went into the GFFX Setting and have AA turned to 8x. I tried to install the 44.71 drivers. Cleared up the surface, but still jagged, everything else looks really good

Maybe the jaggies are from the edges of masked textures themselves, then there’s nothing you can do about that. Or are the jaggies coming from the sides of walls ect.

hmm i have a 5600 and never had any problems, have you tried other sets of detonators with it?
