Will there be Nazi Symbols in the MP-Part of RTCW:ET??
and will there be still bot-support?
Can this info be given to the community?
Many people in germany are asking this question, because if there are signs it will be banned in germany and noone can set up a gameserver.
It’s a hard problem for us here.
There definitely won’t be any Nazi symbols in Enemy Territory and there should be no problem running servers in Germany. Since the begining of ET’s development, we have always held that it’s a battle between the Allies and the Axis and any iconography present represents that.
Not only are Nazi symbols banned in Gemany, but I believe they are also banned in France, Italy and Hungary too.
This is why America is honestly the best place to live. (Or at least it has the best ideals.) I went on a German Quake 3 server one time, and I named myself SuperNazi as a joke. One of them spoke to me in English… “That’s not funny little American.” and then they banned me.
Last I knew, Hitler was the one who wanted to erase history from the history books. Looks like everything has come around full circle.
I don’t think it’s a case of trying to erase history but prefering not to be reminded. Perhaps in the same way that Americans like to gloss over the fact that they practically single handedly wiped the native americans off the face of the planet!
We all have our skeletons in the closet, moments in history we’d rather forget.
I’m sorry so are you suggesting all germans are guilty of this atoricity by default the moment they are born and we should remind them of it until they die?
Look at your original point from your own perspective. If there were a symbol like the Swastika that came to be associated with the genocide of the native americans would you feel comfortable having it paraded in front of you today even though you were not born until long after the indians had all but vanished? You are not guilty of this attorocity as is a german not guilty of what took place before they were born. I’m using the native american example to bring the point closer to home, not to wind anyone up!
You mean America and Germany are the only two countries in the world? Last time I looked, Nazi symbology wasn’t banned in my country…
Calling yourself SuperNazi on a public, provided-for-your-FREE-enjoyment server without being courteous enough to respect their local rules was insensitive at best, and arrogant at worst.
6 Million is a conservative estimate – as many as 20 million Jews or more may have been tortured and killed by Hitler’s band of killers . . . plenty enough to justify disallowing any trace of Naziism to survive in any non-holocaust-memorium form.
