I have recently installed Linux on my box and I was wondering if there is a way (patch etc.) to install ET on linux using the win32 file /the installed win32 data on my harddrive? Since the re-download of ET:linux is not good for my download limit
Thx

w/ q3, you could copy the files over from win32 and run the linux binary point release - no clue if that will work for ET - wont ruin anything if you try : )
or will it ?

I haven’t tried this with ET, but for RTCW I had my linux install symlink to the windows install to get the pk3/map files. No reason to have duplicate files. Symlinks are handy for this.

the pak files are the same, the only files specific to linux that you need are the et executables and the libraries. The pak files can be copied. This has the binaries you need. Just extract that into /usr/local/games/enemy-territory (or whereever you want to install it) and copy *.pk3 over from your windows installation into etmain.
