Cooperative mod for the great atmosphered game – RTCW, which was released in 2001 – have been announced a year before although it have been awaited more than 10 years, at last it will be released in this month. As promised by the developers a lot of new features have been built – in into the mod, which must be mentioned before we start to do the killing with our friends.
For this occasion, I created a report with a Hungarian developer, which you can read below.

So is this a coop mod of its own gameplay or a coop of the single player portion?
This is a COOP mod of the single player. It basicly allows you to play SP with other players online.
Think they will be adding new missions after they added all features into existing game. I wouldn’t mind making a level or two, time permitting, erm reminds me, totally forgot to reply to these guys urgh…
You should subscribe to the ModDB page to receive news, one of the last videos was posted with a part of gameplay, and after a flamethrower test

I’d ask for a one thing tho. I have not tested nor do I really know what exactly have you done. But I assume the SP is exactly the same. The original game is WAAAAAY too easy even with the hardest. I’d imagine playing it togethor with a friend would make it half easier, which would make it a lot too easy imho. I mean come on, I’ve played it through with using nothing but pistol, knife and kick for 90% of the time.
So for the original SP, I’d ask for a new difficulty, sick or something. Would not take much time to create, just reduce the health size and grow the weapon damage for player etc. And the new maps should be designed to contain more bots and be harder
generally. Ofc this within the limits of FPS.
Btw. Have you fixed the bug of dead player model? Would give you chance tho double the bot amount with the same performance. Maybe I should read the coop thread again first, but anyways, if this post is useless, just ignore it.
in short: more AI’s, harder skills and possibility of respawning AI’s
More bots can be harder for your computer ofcourse, but we are 2012, computers are pretty fast
When my laptop died few times ago, I was happy to have my old 2004 XP running both RtCW and ET (Not with high FPS and settings, but was running smooth enough to be played), maybe some people aren’t quite interested in modern gaming and still have that old stuff to play with, with all the incompatibilities of Vista/7 (And seems 8 will be even worse)
It’s like the 30 MB CTF map released not that long ago for ET… 30 MB for a CTF. First reaction: “wat”. Because the mapper PC could handle the max -light settings

Mateos, Rtcw/Et can run on Windows Vista/7 with some tweaking.
Jack, the coop mod project is gonna be released, maybe sometime this month.

all these extra enemy options are optional
jacKflsher05: the plan was to release in this month, but currently there’s a bad network bug that disconnects players sometimes when the map is switching, and this one is holding us back currently

8 coop players, but stock rtcw maps are really not built for this, but maybe custom made maps will
That is awesome, 8 players working together would be great to see.
Perhaps you could look into adding classes like the planned ET Single Player that was canceled.
there’s a lot we can do, but it all depends on how many people will actually play this and keep playing it

When I read “8 player co-op”, I thought about a time-limited map which can be finished only if little groups focus on 1 objective each for instance, and the time limit would vary depending on how many guy are playing (Plus a auto-change if someone leave)?
