I have to say the rtcw.co.uk servers are better admined then the jolt servers even though as said before they are not realy linked.

Also when I stareted out admining and I was a n00b (thought I would use that word as lots of you are) and wasnt use to kicking and banning. I managed to perm ban someone and felt very guilty. Took me about 5 mins to sort out. So that might also be the case if there does not look to be anything in the ban file!
Cant say I would go to another forum and spout about a bad admin though. Even when I did it on the UDP forum back in RTCW I got a bit of hassle. But that was total admin abuse hmmmm wonder if I can still find the thread on there website is so funny!
Iāve played with Englander at least 100 times in the last few months and iāve never heard or seen him do anything unreasonable in that time.
You old pros can discount what i say as i too am a noob but if there are servers out there with stupid admins on then i wanna know which ones so i can avoid them. This particular forum has a history of people complaining about servers (done it myself) so i dont see that Englander has done anything odd by venting it here.
I donāt really agree with the word fag but lets be honest who here doesānt say something is āgayā all the time without even rearlising it might be offensive to some people. All swear words are offensive to someone and we all let em slip out from time to time. Honestly if there is anyone here who has never said an offensive word then please come forward and reveal yourself for you surely must be Jesus.

Englanderās behaviour on the server was totally unacceptable. VIZ was who I joined in order to check at the time, since the name was rather too similar to a old alias of mine.
At the time VIZ and some medic were camping the (blown) city wall and then allies won the map by going through tunnels. Some silly argument started between the two with englander starting it with some comment about spawn camping, which VIZ responded to with something about it not being the spawn and calling englander a noob, then on it goes about player numbers (presuambly unintentionally started by some 3rd player).So far so yawn.
I used a global chat aimed to calm it down ā without saying admin on server ā some other player said something aswell. This was ignored, and lame talk got worse with Englander being VERY aggressive and calling VIZ a fag after Battery loaded. VIZ was overly cheeky, but appeared somewhat bemused by Englander who seemed to take great offence to being called a noob and was being highly aggressive - more than one player on the server made comment about it as soon as he was removed, pity no log or demo.
Warn? Why? should i warn players who are teamkilling, or cheating? Careless play resulting in teamkills get warnings, players laming intentionally do not. I have no hesitation whatsoever in removing them, theyre simply not welcome on the server, end of. Is laming only not OK when there is a admin on server, making himself known? Had Englander not been under alias I probably would have been slightly more laid back, but that would have been an exception rather than the rule. You were far more aggressive and abusive of the two, after leaping over the line you were removed soon as Iād gone through the crap in the console to do it. I see a big difference between calling someone a ānoobā and a āfagā, one is being an annoying kid, the other is being abusive along the same lines as calling someone a nigger.
FWIW, right after you were forced to leave, VIZ was warned his āattitude is unwelcomeā using /ref warn, and he quit straight afterwards. Sure he wasnt listed as 9999 ping when you rescanned server, or did you not give enough time for any admin to have kicked him anyway?
I very rarely use the kick command, for the reasons given above a temporary ban is far more preferable as an actual deterrent and āpunishmentā. Itās unfortunate punbuster is being rather annoying about not displaying the given reason, which Iāll apologise for since you seem not to have seen ālamer successfully removed - short ban for j00ā. Ban until the scheduled reset early morning (a couple of hours away) seemed and still seems appropriate.
Iāve seen absolutely nothing so far which suggests my decision was incorrect, much more the reverse, confirming the kicked player had lost his temper and needed a short holiday from the server. Quickly opening popular forums in order to slag off the server confirms it still further. Since you evidently have a problem with the decision though, its a shame you didnt go into IRC, could have been resolved in under 1 minuite, without you dropping to the level of being publicly abusive about an admin, firstly about the non-existent admin VIZ and then continuing it even once you realised VIZ never was an admin.
Lastly, if you EVER expect a head admin not to back up his admins in public when anyone is openly hostile towards them, then you really have to think a bit about how teams work.
I never started it at all,Oasis ended and Viz came out with some with a sour comment how it was 6 Allies v 3 Axis,I simply replied that actually it was 6 v 4 and a guy disconned just before the game ended(nothing wrong with that).I got the reply BS of Viz to that fact.
After the BS comment from Viz I said that even if it were even I doubt they would have won simply because Viz and a Medic were playing from the Old City Wall trying to spawn camp and not even thinking about the guns(still no abusive or aggressive comment from me).
I then recieved another line from Viz,āIs that all were supposed to do watch the guns,and that isnt spawn camping you n00bā
All of this was said in a way to tell me Viz was a player who shouldnt be playing if he couldnt take comments what were simply stating the facts"
The rest is vague but I did respond and call him a n00b back because there was no one taking action against him,you say you sent a message to calm people down ,I never saw any message.
Then Viz called me n00b again and just as Battery loaded up Id had enough of his attitude,I called him a Fag,those are the true facts of how it all started.
I wasnt team killing or being lame,infact it was me that blew the guns to win.I called somebody a Fag after being talked to with no respect for some time,like ive said Viz should have been kicked well before I had the chance to call him a fag.
I was only the most aggressive with the Fag comment untill then Viz was easily the most aggressive and abusive.
Lets not bring racist terms into this I called somebody a fag not a nigger.

Were have I ever said Viz was definately the admin my second post in this thread says that,what I did say is whoever the admin was dealt with the situation slowly and n00bishly.I guess people coming forward saying I havnt got an attitude problem means nothing to you(thanks to those people),I didnt see why I had to search and waste my time looking for IRC channels or forums when the admin what kicked me didnt show any thought or concern for me ,if they did I wouldnt have had to call Viz a fag and I wouldnt have been kicked/banned.
So if he didnt disconn hed still have been on,he should have been kicked or warned way before that.

Fag is on par with nigger. One is a derogatory term for a homosexual, with several negative connitations; the other is a derogatory term for a black person, again with several negative connitations. Noob is a degoratory term for a gamer with connitation that he hasnt figured out how to play āproperlyā. Different scale, imo.
Actually no, consider fag as much of a ābad wordā as you like, just accept that the admin was not unreasonable in deciding that your comments were over the line, and that a couple of hours ban is hardly such a horrendus unfair overreaction such as is implied in this thread. Agree to disagree if you like, but your comments and intentions with this thread were more than unfair, though maybe at least partly due to a mutual misunderstanding.
As with saltehs comment, if i was to kick everyone who called me a fag, it would be more like 80% of people

This is a GAME. A game is defined to be fun. An admin must keep a balance between what is fun, and what is not.
Im sorry, but if i was and admin on that server, VIZ would of been warned for unsportinglike conduct, and would of probably disconnected before this exchange of words could happen. And made the game what it was supposed to be.
Domi, you werent on the server, never mind adminning it. How can you possibly state with confidence what you would have done? Because you beleive 100% Englanders version? Read the thread, its pretty obvious the state of his temper at the time, even jumping straight on a forum to talk shit about admin and server behind their back. How lame is that?
Fact of the matter was the behaviour going on was unacceptable and was severely affecting the atmosphere ā the fun ā for other players. At LEAST one other player said words to the effect of good riddance when he was kicked. Englander can post whatever he likes to try and make him look good, he can beleive it too, still doesnt make it true to the view of anyone else on the server.

look, by what i have head on this thread by you and englander, u both seem to agree that VIZ or whoever was standing at the old city wall, and spamming the respawn with airstrikes and what not.
Call that fun if you want, but if someone does that on a server i admin with player numbers less than 6v6 then im warning him with intention to ban.
No wonder englander was angry, i would question anyone else who says otherwise.
This is a case of punishing the victim. If i get punched in the street im gonna call the guy a f**king prick, but im not going to be picked up afterwards for breach of the peace (not in scotland anyway:P).
I donāt see a reason to get angry over someone trying to spawncamp instead of defending the objective when they are two men down. As Englander said he planted himself and they won the map. It does indicate that VIZ was a newbie, but beating noobs at 6v4 isnāt exactly impressive either. I personally get more upset by numerically uneven teams than by spawn camping (at least on Oasis, maybe not on Railgun).
If I had adminned I would have asked them to even out the teams, and either switched one player manually or shuffled if they didnāt listen.
