OK I get this guy is like heavy weapons but giving him a gun with such a massive rate of fire plus so much health makes him near impossible to kill alone or even with 2 of your squad maybe give him slightly less armour due to him carrying that big ass gun maybe ??
RHINO Nerf required
didn’t have much problems with him yet.
he is only useful in certain situations.
keep range and engage when his minigun is not spinned up and play with your team, best as fragger.
So far I think he is fine
Bring a Nader or a Fragger and explode him around corners. Or bring a Vassili and fight him from afar.
He can barely hit anything midrange +. His primary is shotguns and his special is just a minigun. He is EXTREMELY slow and has a massive hitbox.
I think he is fine the way he is now. I haven’t had issues beating him in pubs or comp games. Coordination and explosives beats Rhino. The key is to gib him.
Or just shoot him with literally any gun at range. I’ve taken Rhino on with Proxy’s secondary and won before, by staying well away from him.
Or just flank and get around Rhino. A few headshots will take him down quickly.
Rhino doesn’t seem too bad in most games except for Bridge, where there are tight corners and wall-springable corridors everywhere, especially with an aura right next to him.
Some people normally not much of a threat seem to be an insane nuisance once they pick up Rhino. I don’t think he should be nerfed this quickly after being added, but he certainly is a pain in the ass in pub games, no doubt.
then again i only play pub games, so my opinion really isnt that important lol
No.
If anything, he should be slightly more lethal at close range than he currently he is, not to mention having even more health. 50 over Fragger while being a sitting duck is barely adequate.
The spread and damage drop-off on the minigun after just a few metres is extremely high.
His sole uses are choke-points backed up by an Aura or draining a Bonez of packs completely while advancing.
I don’t see him being overpowered at all (I own him, barely play him, even with medics). As mentioned, it’s Bridge and maybe Underground that see some use.
Get the nitros perk for a 50% spinup time and then burst fire while in Aura’s station. You can medium range better.
I think 8v8s also tend to give Rhino an insanely huge advantage.
I haven’t played enough comp games to know for sure, but I’d imagine 5 vs 5 games make it so much easier to outplay a mindless Rhino. It’d be way harder to flank when you got so many morons crowded around eachother.
Yes, @Pogo I agree. This is what is known as the ‘Lemming Train’ on world of tanks. Rhino feeds on people charging right at him.
Assuming that the previous person did enough damage that they can finish Rhino off. Everyone follows the leader to their death.

His minigun has a DPS of 600. It’s hard to be more lethal.
The minigun is fine as it is.
one of the first few times I have ever heard the term “DPS” used seriously for a shooter game. What does that even mean? If you get a minigun to land every bullet in someone’s chest it does 600 a second??
Rhino is not only fairly easy to kill in a lot of situations but he has the worst thing going for him possible. In WoW there is a class called the Druid and they can spec into what is called a Moonkin. The Moonkin looks like this giant dopey owlbeast thing and immediately draws the attention of everyone around them due to this. So, in PvP, people tend to focus down the Moonkin because of how easy it is to identify and see. Rhino is the same way. People home in on you simply because you’re a big easy target that’s easy to identify just like a Moonkin.
DPS stands for Damage Per Second, so the minigun deals 600 damage in a second of firing if all of the bullets hit.
speaking as someone who plays as rhino he is one of those very specialised characters more so than vasaline even , he wants to engage you at the shortest range possible , if you came round a corner and just got cut in half by a rhino you done fucked up, just as you have to learn to hear proxies mines or whackers turret , you have to get used to listening for that low level whirr of his barrels, because he had to be waiting there for you with them spooled up to fire instantly.
hes big hes slow and when he spins his weapon up hes very very slow, extremely weak to range and explosives and at short range you can out dps him with a shotgun if you have a corner or cover to hide behind between shots.
so engage at range , hear him before you see him , use explosives to dislodge him or make him let go of RMB and let his gun spool down because he needs to run from a grenade and then take him, but if you miss that sound and run around a corner and just try to out dps him you already died killed by your decision it will just take a second for his bullets to deliver the message.
