Revive Invincibility needs to go

Don’t tell me battlefield revive mechanics is something devs should be looking for. It’s already quite easy to pick a freshly revived player.
I really think players will definitely get angry if you remove it totally. I’m not a huge fan of how the revive system work now but I’m still convinced revive invincibility is necessary to make medic worth playing in this game. It just needs a few improvements to prevent it being unfair for the player facing a freshly revived enemy blob.

Revive invulnerability absolutely needs to go.

The argument “Just shoot around them!” is utterly flawed, medics have fast movement (strafe) speed and are able to use just about any other character as cover.

While it can be frustrating to be locked into multiple revives, it is far more frustrating and game ruining that someone can become invisible yet still block damage, and revoke that on their choosing.

A better solution would require the player to confirm their revive within a short (2 second?) window. This should be an option and could be enabled by default. I personally wouldn’t use it, but then again I don’t get chain revived.

If SD must keep the res invun, then they must enable server hosts to disable it. No competitive players will want this system in the game. Furthermore they should make currently invulnerable characters translucent and remove their bullet collision so they cannot be used as cover.

The vast majority of players, including competitive players, are completely fine with a very short rez invulnerability - it was in QW and ET and it was fine. What are u smoking?

If u dont want your enemy getting a rez then gib them - if gibbing takes too long that means u need to change the gib mechanic not the revive mechanic. solved.

it seems in this thread we can see those fragger fans all having a qq that they are not quite, almost, gods of the game because dammit their slain enemies might get revived.

I think the revive mechanic is fine and haven’t had any issues with it. If you don’t want those players you’ve just downed to get back up, you need to gib those corpses.

I know some have complained it takes too long to gib but aiming for the head of the downed opponent really speeds things up.

I was playing a game where a Fragger was downing enemies but not gibbing them. I switched to Sawbonez, fed him med packs and finished off the downed players. Just two of us were able to push half a team back on a flank with that tactic.

Just because something was in a previous competitive game does not mean its a good feature. It seems only a small amount of people on these forums want to keep it. Everyone I have encountered both in-game and out have considered res invun one of the major issues (along side low frame rates, aura stations and explosives.)

You couldn’t be more wrong. Fragger can handle medic spam better than any other class. The other classes with less damage per magazine, and without frag grenades are far less capable.

You probably play with a certain type of fps player then. The revive mechanic is fine although I would prefer et’s version. Shoot the downed players and your problem is solved. I did that all through my 5 years of et its really not an issue. What they do after they get revived is the bigger issue.

you should pick them up with a bit more health, but no invulnerability[/quote]

Everyone on this forum, who isn’t a comp player, defends the stupidest shit in the game…

Love it when I gib body and medic is running with paddles towards it and then I knife him too
