Hi

Just a little note to say I have a new conversion ready. Unlike trainyard, this is a total conversion which means 100% ET map!!! :slight_smile:
I even have custom voices for the objectives.

Unfortunately, I had to release this map in a hurry which means there mightbe one of 2 little bugs left because some servers managed to get the beta version I made last week and run in on public servers with downloads enabled. I even found 2 sites hosting the pk3 file…

Anyhow, here’s the map with a complete readme file. There’s quite a few cool things in it and the only “bug” (or thing I haven’t had time to complete because of those guys putting my map up for download without asking me first about it) is the objectives in the limbo menu… I guess that will have to be sorted out on the next map…

Do you use http redirect on your server because I only get 7kb/s from it yet I got 61kb/s from that link.

I had a first quick test of the map (just some walking around and then two rounds), so I might be proven wrong after a while. But the map seems very biased towards axis. You can keep them spawning on the beach for a rather long time, and when they spawn at the forwards bunker (or what it was called) it turns into a airstrike/artillery/panzer spam fest for axis. As I said I might be wrong when people learn the map, let us hope so.

There also seemed to be some problems with the spawn. When axis had the bunker flag, there were still allies spawning there.

Otherwise a nice map, with many more places for me to discover yet.

Then I have another remark that does not concern this map. Why is it that on all custom maps servers I have played the share of assholes is much higher than on the other servers. It does not always happen, but too often. I would have thought that people who take the time to find the new maps and download them would be the slightly more experience players initially, but… Maybe it is the auto-download :???:

Ya, this map seems a bit biased towards axis. I posted a similar thing to the PW forum, but how about having an engineer be able to build a 120mm Howitzer-type gun to blow that tank-destructable door inside the trenches with some access tunnel leading into that main underground one that seperates the 2 bunkers (The real deep one)? Other then that, maybe add a couple axis team doors the lead into the complex as well, so you aren’t stuck on one side or the other (and gives the allies another shot at getting inside) and it’s good to go. I like this map more then the other released ones, pretty big map with lots of nice nooks and crannies and plenty of things for the engis to do. Keep up the good work.

teh wall at the start just shouldnt be there, why is it there? it has no reason just takes away time

I also think there are to many doors and stuff for allies to blow up
and when allies have the flag, axis spawn there, but when axis has the flag, allies spawn there WTF?

The flag does not work right, most of the time it seems if the axis capture it, the allies spawn there, but if the allies capture it, they spawn on the beach. The voices are seriously annoying, and the map is slightly tilted in the axis favor. If the voices were less annoying and the flag fixed, it would be good enough to run on my server though.

found a minor bug - the health cabinet near the axis command post doesn’t dispense health to either team.
The ammo cabinet beside it is ok.

There are different “Carnage” map, when i’ve played this map on different servers , it was always the beta, with many bugs (flag, ammo, …).

I think that the good map is “Carnage Canyon” and not only “Carnage”.

Oh yes, the health gives you 1 HP at a time, if you stand in the right spot. I say just fix all the bugs and call it carnage2 - rhine did the same thing, and rhine2 is great now.

Hi, I just downloaded this map today so I hope I have the most recent version, anyway the map seems to work properly seen from the client side, but on the server side I’m seeing a lot of strange messages. I’m no mapper so I don’t know their meaning, but it’s lots of messages on something about planestate which cannot be found/set (sorry I’m not too specific, but the error is not saved to the server logfile, maybe I’m not having enough detailed logs?)

If it’s of interest to get the messages I can probably catch them for you later in case you do not already know of them ?

Since everything seems to work, should I just ignore them for the time beeing ?
