There is huge difference between players’ experiences and mod abilities. I’m not that familiar with ETPub, then I will use NoQ as example.

If we are talking about mod abilities:

ETPro has brought four main changes:

  1. bug fixes - plenty of them
  2. performance optimization
  3. gameplay changes focused at competition
  4. improved administration

If you compare NoQ and ETPro: currently, in NoQ there is more bug fixes, NoQ has better performance (higher FPS, lower loading time, etc., etc.), NoQ brings more options to server admins. These are three areas where is NoQ significantly better than etpro.

However, it is more complicated in term of gameplay changes.
There is are features which haven’t been implemented in NoQ yet and can be seen in ETPro, eg: gaining of experiences based on damage instead of kills, certification of competition configs, extended ASCII support, and maybe few more.
If we are talking about public servers, these are minor „shortages“.

IMHO all major and most of minor gameplay changes introduces by NoQ cane be adjusted in order to provide same gameplay feel as ETPro.

But players’ experience is very different story. It is affected by server settings and its admins deeply.

There is a enormous amount of settings in NoQ which allows you to set up server which gives very very different gameplay experience to players.
It could be set in way which gives you feel like you are playing etpro-similar game. There are already implemented most of technologies and features which have introduced by ETPro. And further more, now these technologies are more advanced and better than these in etpro. To be sure, you can set up server which has insane settings and creates controversial feel which is far away from original ET (XP saves forever, double-jumps, adrenaline, and so on.).

Then I should test the latest version, I had always longer loadings and worse FPS rate than on other mods with it…

NQ is the most bloated mod run it on large servers and see
etpub/silent/nitmod can be adjusted too to much etpro gameplay

Last time I did performance test, it was NoQ 1.2.7 more than two years ago.
