Request: Low Volume option

(CVIChEK) #21

Wolfenstein has it, and seeing from the customization thread, Brink should have it too.
what is rocket surgery?

You don’t even have to buy anything, if you know how to solder

I am going to build a headphone amp for my HD555s
don’t know what your time is worth, but I won’t even get out an invoice book for $10

Also, I hate having more wires than necessary. My headphones sound great and have good sound positioning so there is really no reason to get an amp when developers should follow the lead of standard setters like COD.

(15% or more) #25

There’s got to be equipment out there that allows you to control the volume.

(Nail) #26

if you’re getting rid of the amp, get that Koss gadget, it’s $10 and acts as a cable extension

Reviews on amazon say they ruin the sound on lower volume. I really like the sound of these headphones since I can hear minor details I miss on desktop speakers.

(Herandar) #29

Looks like somebody wants to pay $15 for 4 maps!

People who love games.

The kind that prefer high quality gameplay.

This really annoyed me.

You insist on some audio quality standard, but don’t even know what that is. Stop nitpicking about a lack of a pointless feature. You’re not an audiophile or a “hipster audiophile” so don’t even start with “but I hear…” You demand that some software savior fixes everything or else the entire world is just unreasonable. Plug in the RCA L/R analog into your TV. Set up the TV to use “line out” and then get RCA to 3.5mm TRS adapters for the headphones to plug into that. Control the volume on the TV. If the TV can’t do any of this then go to a thrift store or look on Craigslist for AV amplifiers. You can get some 1980’s stereo thing, it doesn’t matter, they will all have RCA audio inputs. Those things are free to $20 and will work. Then they almost always have a headphone jack and a proper stage to control that. This is all what reasonable people on a budget would do, not complain that the game can’t have some software adaptation to reduce the line level amplitude. If you had a PC you would have had more options or not even have to consider any of this.

This thread is a prime example of console gamer ignorance. You guys are supposed to be buying the “xbox 360 headsets” marketed towards this kind of thing so you don’t have to go through all these steps. Why couldn’t you have continued conforming like everyone else? Your current headphones are obviously nothing fancy.

(DarkangelUK) #33

He wants volume control within a game (to be fair, which a lot of games have)… overreact much?

Yeah, which is why games sell so much better on consoles that developers have been dumping ports on PC for the past five years.

OH, SNAPPLE!

And Brink’s designed from the ground up for consoles.

OH, DIET RASPBERRY SNAPPLE!

Oh, and Auzner your posts proved useless half way through your first reply so I haven’t bothered reading them. Just thought out of courteousness I’d let you know not to waste your time replying in this topic.

(Auzner) #35

I just thought I’d let you know you’re doing it wrong. But go ahead and hope the problem eventually solves itself.

(Weapuh) #36

Never seen someone so proud to be a sheep before :S

(LyndonL) #37

Just wondering if anyone is going to bite at this?

Some edu-ma-cation is needed here. :oppressor:

(Weapuh) #38

It’s so off the mark its not worth it.

The one and only CRT monitor in my country has its red electron gun dying. The colors are unbalanced unless blue and green can be tweaked lower. I say we boycott all games that don’t have built in color gamma ramps and sliders. The monitor may be faulty, but because I possess it, it has to be the mode average of what customers are using. Developers should know better, it is inexcusable that they have not foreseen that we might need to adjust our colors in game to compensate. I don’t have enough money to buy a new monitor. Driving up to 10 miles to pick up a free monitor listed on craigslist or paying a non-profit organization $5 is unacceptable as well. While I support the Green movement, I don’t believe in actually participating in it or reusing anything which still works. I’d rather buy a ribbon or a wrist band.

(Nail) #40

if I can find you one with the blue gun dead, could you combine them with analogue 3D glasses to compensate ?

might save you $10
