Request: 360 controller on PC

(Nail) #21

GfW dropped it’s 360 controller requirement a while back, I remember someone correcting me on that point about a year ago

Thanks all, I’m thus enlightened and a better man for it.

Sorry bud, it’s a FACT that a m+k have more fast, precise movements than a controller.

And this is coming from someone who played exclusively on consoles up until COD4. I played a ton, a level 8 prestige in COD4 and the highest rank in Halo 3. I am very good with controllers, I’m not just some PC gamer that’s never used one. It’s just a fact that a mouse and keyboard is much better for FPS games.

There’s a reason why all console games have aim-assist while PC games do not.

So, no xbox 360 controller support or was he just saying that they weren’t required to support it?

(Linsolv) #26

No 360 support. No Logitech controller support. No controllers on PC.

(SockDog) #27

Smooth didn’t say that.

No OFFICIAL support doesn’t mean that some choice console binds wouldn’t enable you to use a controller if you wanted too.

(bluedevil04js) #28

Hopefully, Id much rather play on my pc…I’ll get it on xbox though if I have to. The controller is too important to me.

(Mustang) #29

Wrong, no official support

Logitech is the only controller I would use, and their gamepad manager program is brilliant. I was able to play GTA IV with it almost flawlessly when the game first came out (before it properly supported controllers).
You can set it so the analogue maps to the mouse, and assign any key or key combination to the buttons.
So really no support whatsoever is needed provided you use the right 3rd party TSR.

[QUOTE=Baumbo;285962]Request: Keyboard + Mouse support for Xbox 360.

I think someone should get a k&m, hook it up to their 360, and hook their 360 up to their monitor. Then, proceed to play. It would be like playing on a computer vs console players.

Someone else hook a controller up to PC.

There are lots of videos like this on YT.

I’m glad SD did not make a “oh sure you can use a gamepad on PC with no disadvantage” game like Crysis 2 MP, and so they don’t “officially” support gamepads.
Good sign!

I usually don’t post on forums much but I decided to create an account to add in on this discussion. I found a controller that does work with PC and might work with Brink. The company is Razer and they mainly build PC products but have now started to build products for consoles. The link below is the controller.

(Mustang) #33

No-one said controllers wouldn’t work… just that they aren’t officially supported

What? Razer made that? I’ve been waiting for that controller, but didn’t know Razer was making them. Cool, I just bought the 5600 dpi lazer mouse from them and I’m pretty happy about it. I hope that controller also rocks.

(Spaiker) #35

This question made me shivver

(Bullveyr) #36

I’m surprised, that controller screams “I’m a Razer product”.

(trollface) #37

Wouldnt you be at a great disadvantage using controller vs KB+mouse opponents?
Maybe things have changed since i last played consoles.

(Linsolv) #38

You would… except for Hyrage. He’s talented. It’s simply been accepted that EITHER he’s lying, OR he’s better than many KB+M players with a controller, OR he’s never really tried it.

But since I don’t really want to call him a liar (since if he is, he’s my favorite troll of the forums and I’d rather he stay here to cause continued hilarity), and it’s boring if he’s never tried it…

We’re just assuming that he’s genuinely that good!

(Herandar) #39

I bet he’ll never return. Ah well.

(Linsolv) #40

Ah, well. It was fun for that one Friday. The one that got away, I guess they say.
