I’m trying to connect to ET servers on my new laptop. I’m running a LAN connection through a local ethernet that my family has in the house. I keep sending packets to the GuidAuth server for a CDKey file, but I can’t even get the etkey file created in my etmain directory. Though I initally thought that the problem might have been external- i.e. with the Punkbuster servers- I’m starting that the problem might be that even though I’m sending the packets to the PB server and they are recieiving them and sending me packets back, those packets are being blocked by the firewall on the main household server which doesn’t recognize me as a client. So what I’m wondering is, do I need to start looking for LAN/Firewall issues here at home, or do I keep looking for an external problem?
