I guess the most important question is where do you think most players will come from and the second most important question is how much do you care about your own ping?
I’ll use our server as an example. We rent a server that’s located in Chicago in the US and that gives most players a “reasonable” ping. I realize that reasonable is subjective and that’s why I put it in double quotes…
North Americans obviously have the best ping, somewhere between 20-120, Euros and Middle Americans get a ping between 110-190, Asians get a ping that’s around 200-250, players from the Pacific are in the 250-300 region and South Americans get a 200-250 ping. Those numbers should be interpreted loosely btw, I just wanted to give an indication.
If you think most visitors will be from Europe, you’re better off renting a server there, but you’d have a pretty high ping yourself so that’s also something to consider.

Without having actually rented a server myself, i’d say the best EU one’s are by whoever }Aardvark{ rent one from. I’ve never experience lag on there server at all. (And i get a ping of 1->30, which is nice)

Liked those I3D servers!
Noticed ETQW servers cost a additional fee of 5 euro (unranked) and 15 euro (ranked) due to “high demand of internet and server”.

what about one in new jersey or new york, americans get good ping, EU players get high 90s to 120s. for me anything under 120 is fine. Not sure where the cut off is for other players are thou

New York/ New Jersey is better for NA and EU players, more so than an England server when you take into consideration players from West coast USA
