[Renderer] Nvidia OpenGL driver has lost connection with the display driver

(RobbieG) #241

The 460 runs a GF104 processor and the new 560 ti runs a GF114 so that could why the 560 ti are unaffected but i wouldnt think so

My sli 460 wont run the game stabley no matter what i tried. Im very teched up on pcs and ive tried with all my knowledge to sort this out and i totaly think its the game as some friends with similar setups can actualy run the game.

I just wished they would com forward and let people know whats happening with regards to sorting this out and with it being not available on STEAM now for this amount of time meaning steam and SD lose out on money i find it all very strange.

My kids eggbox 360 Brink lags like hell on multiplayer and thats on a 50 meg connection.

(Abaxial) #242

I really hope I’m not jinxing myself here but I was actually able to play for roughly 4 hours yesterday off and on without getting the error. I know I played for at least 2 hours straight without exiting or crashing. I didn’t change anything so it seems weird.

(jfunk) #243

Yeah, it’s been that way for a lot of users.

I crashed 4 times in the first 2 hours I played, then played a total about 7 hours (not in one sitting) before getting a crash again. I THINK the frequency goes up with my card overclocked, but it’s hard to say when it seems so random to begin with.

(Wionja) #244

Just registered to say this: **** everything about this error.

It’s not a problem we can solve on our own but it’s something that’s up to SD to fix. This is the most buggiest game I’ve ever seen launched when it comes to the FPS genre.

Good luck trying to keep your players when you release halfassed products…

(ZOor) #245

1 hour of “playing” and just 10 crashes. So **** off im out of this game. stick your “free” dlc in your ass and release games that work in near future!

biggest fail 2k11…

(Blobafatt) #246

Yeah the last update made this worse. You crash almost every 10-15 minutes now.

(mojo2776) #247

Dropping my video card to stock speed (GTX 460 sli) seems to reduce the frequency that it occurs. The best thing that I’ve tried is dropping the resolution to 1440x900 (native resolution is 1920x1200). I haven’t had a crash since I’ve done that.

OHH I stand corrected.

You are right, if they don’t get this under control in a big hurry they are going to destroy what really could/should have been (and IMO is minus the bugs) a great gaming experience.

Done properly, they would be only concerned with exploits and making sure consumers are getting evolving content. Instead they get to deal with 15 issues like this thread and an ADD player base that rightfully wants a working product.

For me, I have gotten 17 hours of great fun (and still counting) and am happy knowing that eventually they will get it figured out. But I am lucky in that the crash has been intermittent and random. Till then, I still play and when it crashes move to BC2 and tomorrow LA Noire. With any luck sometime this month they will have the product we all should have gotten.

(joshrose) #249

I’m having this problem as well. It’s happened since launch, but it seems to be more significant over the last few days. I can play 20 minutes max until the monitor pops into ‘no signal’ mode. Then the game crashes.

I’ve tried the thread optimization fix, vsync fix, and power management fix. Nothing works.

win7 32 bit, GTX 260, intel quad 2.6, 2gb ram.

Please look into this SD. The game is great, but I can only play a few minutes at a time!

(RobbieG) #250

Outstanding my fastest crash in a game ever today.

I decided to have another go at cleaning some drivers etc.

after some clean installs of directx, nvidia driver, visual basic, all windows updated etc.

So i boot game up nice and quick, Launch into server, goto console in game, change to soldier.

BAMMMMMMM! Crash full system lockup and me having to press restart to boot pc again.

Game time 2 mins 46 seconds Awsome.

(Inkubus) #251

I did not get this error once since the last patch until just now.

The one thing I changed is r_useThreadedRenderer from 2 to 0. I set it to 2 because someone said it helps, but I found that 0 gives me better frames.
Could it be the 0 setting making this crash?
Try playing with r_useThreadedRenderer 2, and see if it still crashes. I hope it’s not the case, because it lowers my frames

(joshrose) #252

I’m optimistic that I may have solved my problem, but as we all know, it’s sort of a crapshoot with this crash, since it happens at random intervals.

I haven’t been able to play for more than 15 minutes in several days, before that I could usually play for a few hours. I was trying to think of what things might have changed since then, aside from the patch. I turned AA on a few days ago, and figured I’d switch it off just to see.

I’ve played for 2 hours now. Might just be luck, but who knows. Give it a try to see if it helps. To be clear, I am talking about AA in the video options, not in the nvidia control panel.

(AvalonX7) #253

Having the same problem. I cant play for even 30 minutes without a crash mid-challenge or mid-objective mission. This computer is only a few months old and has ALL the updated drivers and software I need to run any other game perfectly fine at top graphics capability. Yet this game for some reason has issues not only on my computer but on my roomates as well and its getting extremely irritating. Someone seriously needs to fix this either with a driver update or game patch. So much talk and hype up to the release of this game and I can’t even play it. Here are all my dxdiag specs if it helps any at all…
(p.s. I have not done any overclocking at all with this comp)

Quick look at system specs:
Windows 7 HP 64-bit
Motherboard - MSI MS-7673
Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
8 GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570
We have reproduced the issue internally.

Please can everyone experiencing this problem post their graphics card and the resolutions they experience this in below.
Just picked up the game today and have not been able to complete a mission without this error:

i7 960
2 x 460 GTX in SLI (Stock)
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
1920x1200

(Ruiner) #256

GPU runs amok when starting the game, and cannot play past a mission. Splash Damage please patch this so we can actually play your game! It’s beginning to take a long time and we haven’t heard anything about a patch yet except that it’s been acknowledged

i7 960
480 GTX (Stock)
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
1920x1200

(SpawnTDK) #257

problem has been acknowledged and you need another affirmation there will be a patch?

HU?

stuff like the following are to normal:

 • = user

= dev

 • there is a problem

problem acknowledged

 • will there be a patch?

sure, or new drivers for your video hardware, thats why it has been acknowledged

 • when will there be a patch

have you upgraded your drivers? please do so und give us some feedback

 • thats not a driver problem because my teletubbie games running without any problems, so IT MUST BE YOUR FAULT, my drivers are perfect and so im i! when will there be a patch? TeLL Me NOW!

we are working hard on it

 • will it be fixed in the next patch?

can’t say that for sure, but we working on it, please be patient., can’t give you specific dates

 • when will there be patch?

be patient

“patch released”

 • there was a patch but you still havent fixed this bug!!!111111oneoneneooeone **** *** ** * * * **

this bug is hard to catch, we fixed xx other problems, we still working active on this problem, be sure it will be fixed

 • lair, you told us you will fix this problem, and still this bug exists. I SUE YOU!!!

please be patient

 • fix MY BUG"§$!"§

we fixed in the last patch (released 1 days ago) a couple of other bugs, we’re sorry for your circumstances, our devs are humans too, please take note they only can do their work too.

 • get more devs!

can’t do sorry

 • ***** you!

can’t do either

and so on …

the world a full of stupid users like this example, i don’t need to search for mit then 3 seconds to find one here … i work since over 10 years in the it, so i know stuff like that well enough, and sometimes it’s impossible to say something precisely.
it can be a problem with the drivers too, because something runs smooth doesn’t mean everything else must do so too, be sure they AND your hardware vendors (amd/nvidia) are both looking into stuff like that. and of course, it can be a basic problem with the idtech 4 too, so id software is involved too.
i won’t say that when the game is out for 4 weeks, but atm we don’t have even a whole week.

i always laugh at stupids who want to sue someone or demand more devs.
the first thing is just lol and the second … it’s impossible to get a new dev and he has to look over millions of codelines he didn’t even see bevor.

Games been out 8 days in America. The only repsonse SD have given is “we reproduced this error in house” NO word of a patch or were working on a patch. Gamers left in the dark as usual. Game is not working as intended therefore people have the right to complain, its part of your consumer rights to receive a fully working product.

And tbh who wrote this Borat? The grammer and english is terrible.

(SpawnTDK) #259

so “we reproduced this error in house” tells you: they know it, but ignore it?
be a bit more realistic.

dear wanna be worldpolice, welcome to the rest of the world, not everyone is a native english speaker.

New beta Nvidia drivers are available via Guru3d. I’ve downloaded and will be installing but I haven’t tried them yet. Can’t promise that they’ll fix this crash, but it’s worth a shot I guess.

GeForce Forceware 275.27 Windows 7 Vista x64
GeForce Forceware 275.27 Windows 7 Vista x32
GeForce Forceware 275.27 Windows XP x32

I’ll report my findings when I get around to it, but if someone beats me to it, that works too.
