Remember when I said matchamaking was a joke? It got worse.

And no it wasn’t even a 4v5, the last guy just left when the match ended, and yes he was also part of that clan He was gold 1 I think.

A 4 man group vs me and 4 randoms.

(Szakalot) #2

so…what is your question?

(Xan) #3

frag is a asian clan lol

Your team didn’t seem to do that bad actually.

I was expecting a full blown stomp

Because I stayed on their ass the entire time. Notice how all four of them had medics? I thought “Meh, surely one of them will play medic, I’ll slap on Redeye for repair cover.”

Naturally, I had to ride them the entire game to play medic. I’d say about half of the time we completely went without. I pretty much had to beg for it.

I had to keep the other engineer on a damn child leash. She would just run off and leave the EV, thank God im decent with Bushwacker.

They did follow my instruction reasonably well though, there’s hope for them individually. I wouldn’t say they were bad, just really inexperienced. You know, the kind that attacks the EV before its completely repaired. *watches stoker completely whiff his molotov".

But still, Putting a 4 man group of average gold 2 against a bunch of unranked randoms and myself? Thats just bad.

Well, they have to keep switching things up. They have to either make you wait forever for a perfect MMR rating match or they make you get a match quickly that might not be balanced (which sucks for both teams).

What I would like for SD to change is to show each player their personal MMR and show it going up or down on a win or loss. How this would be better is if you were in a game that is a stomp to a higher ranked team you could see how little your MMR value actually went down (which is what is important since you’re going for higher ranks). People right now only see the loss and that they were stomped. WoW shows individual ratings for players like this in rated battlegrounds (or they did when I played). It was pretty nice to see each player’s MMR and then the team’s MMR. So if we were going up against a team that was 200 points higher we would get excited because the payoff could be huge and if we lost it wasn’t any big deal since our ratings wouldn’t go down much.

I think DB needs to adopt something like this and drop the whole convoluted CS:GO system that tells people nothing.

Tip: Don’t solo queue

(SteelMailbox) #8

Tip: Don’t play MM

Can you guys spot the odd one out?

And yes, that man does almost have 1000ms of ping.

(Mister__Wiggles) #10

So avoid matchmaking until a better system is in place or even better, get some friends together and then join a game. Solo matchmaking in any game rarely makes sense and is also rarely successful and with DB mystic matchmaking system it scream avoid me.

(HoopleDoople) #11

I’ll keep shouting it from the roof tops until the devs listen:

YOU CANNOT ALLOW PREMADE TEAMS INTO THE SAME MODE AS SOLO QUEUE PLAYERS!

Anything beyond a duo-queue and the team with the grouped players is going to naturally stomp their opposition. If competitive was split into team competitive and solo/duo competitive the matches wouldn’t be so godawful and people might start playing it again. I for one would love competitive but haven’t played it since the missions went away because it just isn’t worth my time in its current state.

(Sir_Slam) #12

The only reason i even play it is because I prefer the 5v5 format.

(Izzy) #13

Or simply, avoid MM until there is a large enough player base to have their algo work properly?

(DadoPeja) #14

Ppl won’t be interest in MM until devs add some kind of leader or somethign to fight for… Whats the point now to play MM?

(LifeupOmega) #15

Keep saying they need to fix MM and add incentives to bring more players in, and then split solo and stack queues to keep stomps to a minimum.

(CCP115) #16

Or they could simply split up premades so that there are some of premades on either team.

You are still playing with friends in the same server, and I’d say it’s more fun destroying your friends than stomping with your friends.

thats a HUGE invitation to abuse, so pls no

(LifeupOmega) #18

The whole point of MM is to play with your team vs another, why would you force a split? Even less people would play it then.

(Sir_Slam) #19

Im sorry splash damage, but this isn’t acceptable.

(blisteringOwlNest) #20

@Haise yeah, peak times I always get 998 ping, highest it can go. I literally can’t play, and it sometimes strikes without warning. I think 300+ ping for over 10 secs should just be kicked.
