Regarding Windows 10

(AnimeZeroTV) #21

My Analysis:

Windows 10 + My AMD Driver = Slight FPS Drop but working

Windows 10 + My Nvidia Driver = FPS is the same, however crashes randomly sometimes >_>

Windows 10 + My Intel HD Graphics = Works okay, but I don’t really use it that often or at all… So its a meh.

Conclusion: Why is AMD OP?

So I am still testing, but it looks like my video card driver isn’t liked by Windows 10 so far. 10 minutes in and my 2nd monitor still isn’t working. NVidia GTX 660 ti. Will provide more updates as I troubleshoot.

(Ardez1) #23

After a couple of restarts and downloads from NVidia everything seems to be in working order. Was able to play a couple of matches with no issues so far. I will report any crashes if they happen.

(Cr4zy) #24

Because no one saw this surprise update coming. Let alone had the chance to use preview builds for months.

(Vexed) #25

So Win10 is now running on my machine and it’s half time on my third comp game. So far no issues, but obviously Your Mileage May Vary ™.

Edit update: So I’ve been extensively playing Dirty Bomb over the past couple of days… uh… for science… and I have still yet to encounter any Win10-related issues. Everything seems fine.

(Ghosthree3) #26

I installed a week ago and it’s been running with absolutely no problems.

In fact I haven’t even had a crash since I’ve been running it on 10. This announcement sounds like more of a “well we just haven’t tested it” than W10 having problems.

The only issues I’ve had are unrelated to the game and that’s the bug that causes 10 to update your graphics driver, which I don’t want. Luckily there’s a fix for this.

EDIT: Oh and here’s the thread where I mentioned I was testing it. http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/14760/windows-10

Please don’t spread misinformation based on well, nothing. The way you said that makes you sound extremely ignorant on the matter. Btw Diablo II, one of the games with the most compatibility issues over the years, still works.

You probably have the issue I mentioned above. Either accept the latest driver or google how to hide updates in W10.

I will also use Windows 10. But, do you have to use your product key to activate, or does it auto? Because I lost my product key thingy and I’m not so keen into using those programs to find your key.

(Ghosthree3) #28

If you run the installer inside Windows it will use your current registration information. Clean install uses it as well - highly recommend clean install as always…

@AirborneAsian I literally just clicked a button, myself. A few days back I had a notification from the “Get Windows 10 App” (which is exactly what it says on the tin) offering to reserve me a free copy, so I did. This morning I just opened the app from the system tray and clicked the button to proceed. ~30 minutes later I had Win10.

Oh, start menu. How I’ve missed you. ^^

(Ghosthree3) #30

Still inferior to Windows 7’s though :frowning: I installed Start10.

Hello there,

I’m a windows insider and I have not ran into any crashes or errors.
The only errors I ever had while running dirty bomb where network connection errors.
This was not on the dirty bomb side.

If I come across any issues I’ll make sure to share them!

(maplefreak26) #32

Just updated to Windows 10.

Dirty Bomb doesn’t seem to have any issues on my end.

Did you update your drivers? Are you getting any error messages? Have you tried reinstalling DB?

(Knives) #37

Thanks, I planned on upgrading to 10 tonight and wasn’t sure what all would break.

(popularEmerald) #38

they require comment approval now, this is preposterous

(Ardez1) #39

Only for users with negative points or a lot of flags.

It may surprise some of you, but yes, it does. (At least, for me)

After upgrading to Windows 10, I played around with some of my games to see if they were changed in any way. Darkest Dungeon, Team Fortress 2, Garry’s Mod, League of Legends, and Dirty Bomb were some of the games I played around with after upgrading to Windows 10. Surprisingly, I didn’t have any problems.

To provide evidence that I had no problems with Dirty Bomb and Windows 10, I took screenshots.

Please note that I changed Dirty Bomb to a “windowed” setting so you could see the game and Windows 10 at the same time. That was the only setting I changed.

Remember! These were MY results from playing. The same may not happen to you. I had no problems playing Dirty Bomb on Windows 10, but the same may not happen to you.

Upgrade at your own risk.
