He is completely useless min 10 servers, back then he had 1:1 exchanges or 1:2, now he is completely unviable due to decreased hp, changed melee system and bigger indicaters.

I don’t understand the overreactions. He isn’t useless. Yes he is over nerfed and in need of a slight buff. But not useless. Read some of my previous comments.

Yeah I have the best loudout as well but I haven’t turned to swearing. You can let out your frustrations without being abusive man. The guys at splash damage are humans just like us, they make mistakes and I have faith in them sorting it out because they seem to care about the fans. I would like a refund but I know that I signed to a beta and the main point of a beta is for testing do I understand things will always change and I’m cool with it, you should be as well.

That’s okay man, we are all human. You should not feel cheated though. Everyone knew it was coming, listen to some smooth jazz, have some thinking time and try out Phantom in a more, flanky way.

It is man, but let’s be patient and wait until the guys at SD come out and say whether or not there will be further tweaks. Remember we still have unreleased mercs and I’m sure there will be further balancing issues in the future but these forums will be a better place if everyone shows respect and maturity.

No, he really can’t. Maybe against level 5’s.

In fact, playing any merc intelligently will let you get ‘the drop on and ambush’ most people.

Let’s take Fragger, for example.
Not only does fragger have more health, more firepower, a better ability… and he can also ‘cloak’ by easily flanking those same level 5-6’s the same way a phantom would. But, with the added benefit of not making an obvious noise. Once behind a team, he can simply cook a nade and instagib a group of players. That’s definitely easier than it would be to fiddle with hitting fast moving targets with low DPI sword swings.

Not sure about you, but I don’t really see the benefit of having or even playing as a phantom with the other Merc choices out.

By the end of this weekend, he’ll be a ghost. Literally. You will rarely see him in a server.
If you don’t believe me, then I invite you to play him on a free weekend.

I think they should make his cloak A LOT harder to see, making him a sneaky merc. And do we really need his cloak and decloak to be louder? He already yells woooOOOOOOooooo and SHAZAM!

i recall making a thread where i wanted mercs released a little “underwhelming” rather than the current system of release merc “strong” to get many to buy it then nerf it - as they do (and are doing right now)

Im not saying u were one but it seems many of the players who got ghost boy just wanted EZ mode and played the heck out of ghost boy all the time reveling in all the ez mode kills they got thinking they were good but the reality was u were using an ez mode unbalanced broken merc

that couldn’t go on forever - u paid your money and took the ride and now the ride is over u want to get the money back. Well you cant get it back. nor should u

I do not understand how people are finding him ineffective after the patch unless they were using the katana as an aim crutch. I am still not having trouble playing him very effectively in public servers.

I’m glad with the nerve. Good phantoms are still deadly while those that are still getting used to it actually have to learn to use it properly. I’m happy with it!

According to your analogy, Phantoms ride got completely destroyed with no prior warning while all thr other rides still continue to function lime normal.

just think how much skill u will now need to use in order to get this complex merc to perform at a high level.

Isnt it just so rewarding and fulfilling to kno u are going to be challenged by a task, playing ghost boy well, but with hard work, practice and a gradual maturing of skill you shall overcame.

go forth and enjoy your newly balanced merc. report back often with your latest achievements.

Phantom is made to kill, just like Fragger and Vasilli. He isn’t good at anything regarding objectives but he is a good killer.

The problem is that some random level 5s started crying about him being OP and that he gets a lot of kills when that’s really his job. It’s like saying that you don’t like Vasilli because he shoots your head off when that’s his job. People just don’t have enough experience to know what is OP and what isn’t.

Before the patch, I was killing Phantoms without problem because I learnt how to counter him. It isn’t hard to see him (especially when he’s coming at you) and you can totally hear footsteps and the ultra annoying sound he makes. If I heard it, I quick jumped away and made him miss his melee which broke his cloak and protection and then he was easy to finish off if you’re only half decent.

Now, he is easier to kill than ever but harder to use than ever as well. Probably the worst part about the new patch is the slow melee sensitivity when most targets require 2 or 3 stabs to kill. You’re likely to get killed before you even get to stab them twice because you can’t even turn to his face.

To me, he’s now broken with unnecessary changes. Hope SD fixes this fast. I used Phantom a lot and I feel like I wasted some credits for the loadouts.

I just play fletcher now, phantom doesn’t excel in anything no more.
