ref warn command

(jkr266) #1

hello i admion on a server setup and run by some wolf and et newbies. myself included. when admining i like to use the ref warn to warn players so they cant say they didnt see the chat text. the only problem is whatever i type in the warning box stays there until i quit et, and wont let me change it. is there any way to erase this text.

I always use the console to hand out warnings:

\ref warn <playername> “your message goes here”

This will not always work, because some players use very very very wierd names like “398#$#(I@” :], but it works fine for others.
btw… You don’t have to use colourcodes.

I get this…

Holding delete for an age seems to do the trick - or you can do it Salteh’s way!

thanks guys, never thought of just holding delete forever. and yeah some of these guys use some really fucked up names

How about doing /players and using their PID instead of name?

Havent tried it, but it should work. You can see all the ref commands by typing “/ref” in the console.

The man speaks sense, so he does!

Sorry, but that doesn’t work. The \ref warn command really wants a player name as an argument.

(eVilAsmodeous) #8

The man doesn’t have a point :blah:

(DG) #9

who doesnt?

does it work or not :???:

unless I’m missing something like you actually have to put the pid inside the <>, it looks like you have to use playername and cant use pid :frowning:

/me nudges bani :stuck_out_tongue:
