Red arrows ON or OFF on pub? (vote)

Red arrows ON or OFF on pub? What is your preference? Vote is private (no names shown).

Tbh I don’t mind about red arrows, it’s just green arrows which i think should be on. The amount of TK’s i’ve done because green arrows weren’t on…

(Verticae) #3

Turn them the hell on. Any decent config makes GDF blend in with the background on maps like Volcano.

(Humate) #4

Off with friendly arrows on

(Verticae) #5

Somebody should probably explain to me why anyone would want the red arrows turned off.

(.Chris.) #6

So I can shoot from long distances in the hills and have no one see me, duh.

(Apples) #7

On indeed, if not my poor old eyezZz cant see ma enemies.

Peace

(Runeforce) #8

Imo. as long as you leave the green arrows on, you can do whatever you want with the red arrows.

(Violator) #9

I prefer reds on but green arrows are the important thing though.

(light_sh4v0r) #10

Don’t really mind myself either as long as green is on. I find I only really use reds for tracking people I can’t really see or shouldn’t be able to see so I guess it’s not really that good.

(gooey79) #11

I was always friendly on, enemy off. Prefer the added challenge of having to find/track the enemy myself.

(sereNADE) #12

red arrows are sometimes a deal breaker. what a crutch.

(tokamak) #13

I find I only really use reds for tracking people I can’t really see or shouldn’t be able to see

Which means that being stealthy is useless. Red arrows remove depth from the game.

Obviously green arrows need to remain. There shouldn’t be a challenge in teamwork.

(Tanzverbot) #14

For additional depth, close eyes while playing.

(Verticae) #15

Not much depth to going prone in a couple of bushes tbh.

(light_sh4v0r) #16

Why not, for a defending position that wouldn’t be bad at all.

(Nagromme) #17

Either is OK, but I say off. The red arrows subtract two fun parts of the game. Why subtract from the game?

  1. The fun of hiding and finding new hiding spots.

  2. The fun of catching someone who thinks they’re so well hidden!

Hiding is realistic, not a quirk or exploit or imbalance. It’s one more way to feel like the game world is real and there to be used in creative, strategic ways. Which is what I love about QW!

(Rex) #18

All arrows on. Played 4 years with it, I am so used to them.

(Ashog) #19

Stalemate, yo!

(tokamak) #20

It’s not as cut and dry as that. Sometimes in chaotic situations staying low profile simply involves not moving as much. Choosing not to engage in a fight to favour different objectives IS depth and you can’t do that if you’ve got a huge arrow over your head.
