It does make you special, but in a good way. I feel your pain.

Sure, it’s a game, but I didn’t make it, SD did, and they added things for a reason. Also, I doubt if 90 FOV was meant to be the same as 90 IRL. 90 in the game is considered normal FOV. Also, in game the periphery is not blurred as it is IRL. Anyway, all I was trying to get accross is the fact that there are certain features which are MUCH more than just eye candy, they are game features, and should be considered constants, and un-altered.
Sure, it’s just a game, but if we all stripped our game down to pure white textures and wireframes, it wouldn’t be ET anymore, would it?
If we had something like fisheye ET (take a look at fisheye Quake), then we could have high FOVs without the disortion, but it can’t be done without access to the engine
lol not bad shame about the white jacket noobs and the fact it looks like u have a default config :disgust:
I managed to do the full length of the Iced river on Fuel dump, whilst prone, in less than 2-3 seconds.
(FF=off, being shot up the rear by a Mobile MG-42)
why did u say and me, i go into the clueless bunch, hehe toed, the times i followed u from spawn then stab u and u say luck etc then i do it again, i love my luck
hehe i stabbed someone in a scrim the other night, i got a demo of it

Go do the same.
/seta r_mode “8”
/seta r_gamma “2.5”
/seta r_overBrightBits “2”
All my exec consits of. Im pretty certain Ive played with my game more tweaked then yours but now I got a better comp and what noone seems to know is that: high graphics and a high gamma is THE BEST config there is.
How el1te of you to play supertweaked even with a good computor.
Cant understand why fov 90 is seen as something for the noobs. I’ve used fov 110 for like two months back when I first started et. I then changed back and played much better then before.
The game doesnt move so fast with fov 90 and your aim at long range improves really much.
What adventages is there to use fov 100+, plz tell me. And no, seeing more of the screen is not what I would call a real advantage because it all gets f***** up.
In real life, a normal person will have over a 90⁰ field of view with peripheral vision, though.

Nearly 180 in fact, if you don’t allow for turning your head (which most of us can do without changing our direction of travel)

You’d have to sit really close to the screen to get fov 120 to actually fill 120 degrees of your vision though.
I use FOV 100, because it gives me slightly more side vision, without much warping. But, I still say it’s cheap and should be disabled. Anything that disables game features for the purpose of unintended visibility is a cheap and dirty tactic. And /kill is useful for capturing spawn points, etc., but it’s still cheap. I watched a clan match demo the other day and several times throughout the match, the notify text buffer was completely filled with suicides, the majority of which were just “elite (heh)” clan members cowardly avoiding death. I’ve seen many clans /kill the moment they take fire and are outnumbered. Sure, odds are they would have been killed. But at least go down fighting, and perhaps wound and/or kill an enemy or two before you die.
Cheap. Cheap, cheap, cheap…
So acording to you, ALL clans are cheap? Noone cares about who winns a firefigt in clan matches. If I goes around a corner, and three guys starts shooting at me i /kill, tells my clanmates where the enemy is and what classes. If you need to gather the clan at spawn u tell your team mates to /kill and stop in whatever they are dooing (trying an attack, is in the middle of a firefight and so on)
Youre welcome to start a clan that dont use /kill but if Im shooting at you when u got 2 sec to spawn and kills you at 30 sec spawn. You might reconsider.
