Recording a Replay in ET.. oh yeah, and THANKS!!

(mono) #1

I see F12 is the default key to record a replay. But… How do I stop the recording? F12 again has no effect. Only way to stop seemed to be to disconnect from server. But then, there was no replay in the replay list!

How does this very cool in-game feature work?

Also, SD is amazing for releasing a linux client. What a great game this looks to be.

try /stoprecord in the console. That should work.

Or replace F12 with a demo script, like this one from Iffy:-

set devdll 1
set demoon "autorecord; set nextdemo vstr demooff; echo ^4Recording ^7demo"
set demooff "stoprecord; set nextdemo vstr demoon; echo ^7Recording ^1stopped"
set nextdemo "vstr demoon"
bind F12 "vstr nextdemo"

Copy and Paste that into a new text file, save it as “autoexec.cfg” (including the quotes around the filename) into the ettest (or etmain) folder, depending on which you’re playing, and now when you press F12 it will start a demo, when you press F12 again it will stop.
