Reasonable % in future special edition card events?

(SereneFlight) #1

Now that low chances of getting a event case are getting all the attention, let’s go back to the original problem with CW event, shall we? … yup, you’re not fooling anybody.
I could not even mention how horrible 0.3% is etc. but… you’re seriously taking a piss with your 10% chance when it comes to elite cases.
-ahem- … yeah, to the topic itself… I know it’s unreasonable to ask for reasonable chances (wow that sounds weird) in future but… please?
Also, just sell even cases. Chances of getting a good loadout card/ card you want are already really low so why not? You don’t have to punish few paying customers with your 10% chicken shit when you could lure in more of them ffs.

(sentimentalDime) #2

Come on, this is SD we’re dealing with, they don’t know what ‘‘Reasonable’’ means.

(SereneFlight) #3

That’s why I said that I know it’s unreasonable : P
E: and one thing… hurry up with the trading thingy. I want to get rid of my uggly CW Aura ASAP

(tominatorx) #4

Well Splash Damage is that company that gave people the chance to download the expansion for Brink completely free in the first week it was released so I would say they can be reasonable. I don’t forget these kind of things. Compare that to developers like DICE, Infinity Ward, Bungie, etc. who bring out multiple expansion packs a week after the release of the original game.

That being said, I also think the chances of getting higher tier cards should be improved.

(Backuplight) #5

As much as I hate to say it, it will likely boil down to how much money they made more than whether or not it’d be “nice” of them to do. Not sure whether it’s SD or more so Nexon’s influence on the matter, but the current system really does seem more geared to getting people to spend big rather than little and often purchases. Only reason they’d change that is if they decide the current method isn’t earning them enough.

Voting with my wallet as usual.

(gg2ez) #6

Of course not. Nexon likes cash, and if being unreasonable means they get it, fine by them. Corporate Greed, people, corporate greed.

(Thanks for bringing us Dirty Bomb and all but c’mon guys, please.)

(triteCherry) #7

Unless your a whale, your vote doesn’t go very far.

Sadly true. Plenty of people have been posting saying they’ve bought stuff and are mad about it so won’t buy again - but at the end of the day… they still bought stuff, so until that stops happening, not expecting anything to change.

(Haki) #9

I don’t care about the % on the Elite Cases since they’re way too expensive and RNG…y anyways.

But I do agree on the 0,3%, it’s just ridiculously low.

Just knowing how few gold cards I’ve gotten out of regular equipment cases in 420(no kidding) hours and the rate of CW loadouts being even lower.

I would think very different of this game if I wasn’t on the forums, seeing all those “i got 4 CW loadouts back to back when I installed this game, haha lucky i guess…”-threads that make me believe these loadouts actually drop.

Same thing applies to CW drops though, even when you get one, odds are it’s for a merc or loadout you don’t want. I have two, neither of which will ever get used. It’s a ridiculous system and reaffirms why I’ll never buy fucking elite cases, even if they were a reasonable price. Even with the sale, it’s £20 for 10 elites and a CW case? Fuck no. £20 is a whole DLC pack worth of content for many games.

I’m still salty. As said elsewhere, repeatedly, I doubt this will change soon if ever - and I also expect the folk at SD/NXA to completely ignore how annoying people are finding it. I’d suggest it get asked during a stream, but we all know the answer will be vague, evasive and non-committal.

You know I wonder what the discussions would be like if the shiny rare cards actually gave you an advantage in the game…

Seriously its just cosmetic get over it, can we focus discussion on things that actually matter like gameplay? I mean csgo/tf2 has all the cosmetics you will ever need why not play that if that is all you care about?

(Backuplight) #12

Yes, because we pick our games solely based on whether or not they have a good cosmetics system. It’s in the game as a feature and some people like being able to get skins, even if you aren’t one of them. It’s not “all” anyone cares about, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to find it frustrating when the system is poorly done and full of horrendous odds.

If you don’t like the discussion/ranting, don’t read it. It’ll simmer down after tomorrow anyway.

Sorry, but I don’t understand how people can complain about not getting a subpar looking skin as opposed to what normally happens in f2p games. Yes I know its disappointing but it doesn’t prevent you from playing the game and kicking ass, taking names, whilst chewing assorted brands of bubblegum.

Even if they did get the CW card, it wouldn’t be the one they wanted then they would complain about that instead. There is a problem with the system, we get it. Channel all your rage into one thread, instead of literally spamming the forums about things that dont alter gameplay, trying to find something unrelated to rng is become harder and harder to find…its annoying as fuck to me.

Not to sound whiny, but literally look at the first page of general chat, and you can see why I have to pipe up and complain about the complaining xD. Binging the forums has become a daily ritual for me, I am in love with this game and community but cmon we have far more important things to discuss here than cosmetics surely ; )

Edit: I like the skins/cosmetics as I have said before It is something to play for other than trying to win or just have fun, spent 10000 credits just getting my newly purchased phantom (thanks to the sale) a card with the weapons/augments I want even though i had the most important augment on an Iron card, traded up so many leads/irons upto bronze then had to trade up again to silver to get the loadout I wanted. went from 65.000 credits today to over 100,000 though thanks to double credits with booster, I have really wasted my weekend xD

(PinkFrog) #15

I opened almost 400 cases, played hours and hours on the entire weekend, bought 10 elite cases…
Cards: 0

This really feels like it should not be the way. It’s… I dunno… don’t you want that players remember such events in a positive way?

(SereneFlight) #16

I feel like a good amount of players will remember how the event ended, which is double credits, discounts and… the excitement of CW event case drops which lead into disappointment so I would say that even the big finale was a failure due people having a tendency to remember negative things over positive (except for Nexon of course since they’re fine with disappointing people as long they make money).

Like politics in the Philippines.

(MarsRover) #17

I’m just a pub scrub. I’m not qualified enough to talk about gun balance, mercs, maps, competitive etc. I feel uncomfortable even the small amount of feedback I leave in the appropriate forum sections. I think we can both agree that it’s best for everyone that I stay out of that. But there are other topics I feel I have thought out and valuable opinions.

So please, this is not an either/or situation.

A big question to that is, was the discounts and double credits weekend part of the CW finale or black friday sales? I know they probably planned it all to coincide but I’m 99% sure there would have been those sales even if CW wasn’t going on.

(neverplayseriou) #19

@retroactiveVoice you get a guaranteed case when buying 10 elite cw cases…

(Jostabeere) #20

0.3% ain’t horrible if you’re a freeloader. People like some special individuals should learn about companies and income. As hard as it sounds: They don’t need you, if you don’t pay. A game with 100 people who pay will get better support and updates than a game with 10 million freeloaders.
It is extremely interesting how people need an event where they don’t get cosmetic skins to evolve into brainless things and rage around calling SD and Nexon greedy bastards and bad game designer. Because of some damn skins! SD was nice to give us the opportunity to receive a bonus people would normally pay a big amount of money for, and yet freeloads are the ones who are screaming the loudest about SD being unfair and greedy and whatsoever.
It might sound rude, but if I would be SD; I would limit all upcoming events to people who actually paid anything for the game.
