Well, I didn’t make the orignal post but i feel this re-post is need because lots of people are confused on what causes the “Disconnected for unknown reason” problem.
From my experience and having read what others have wrote. The problems seems to lie on the server’s setting for timeout (how long to keep you in the game if you are idle).
While for most player will good computers, the default setting wouldn’t cause any problems; however, for people with slow computers (like myself) the extra time it takes to load the map makes the server kick us for being idle for too long.
The solution:
Find where one can alter the server timeout setting and extend the time for maybe 20 seconds or so.
So please, if you run a server, adjust the server timeout setting so that people with slower but decent computer can still enjoy the game.
My present solution to this problem is only playing at the server where for some reason keeps my XP and rank when I rejoin. The server’s name is Shrub’s ET server.
