Hey guys, thanks again for helping me out w/ the shrubmod thing I’ve got a serious question for u guys tho. Our server administrator’s computer broke down a few months ago and one of the people that have the Rcon password keeps giving it out to every1 so I change it and some how he still has the password? :???: does ne1 know how he keeps getting the password??? help me put plz

p.s. hey has the Rcon unlimited program (for thoughs who don’t know wat it does it allows u to access the server and change settings w/out actually being on et) is he some how getting it through there??? I’m really confused on how he keeps getting it plz help me stop him! and if I ban him he’ll just seriously screw us over on the Rcon unlimited.

when you’re changing the password are you changing your server .cfg file, it could be that he has access to the server ftp so can just re-download and open up that txt file to read what the new password is

^^ either that you’re changing the RCON password via the console (or a program that provides RCON access) but if / when the server restarts it’s reading the server.cfg file on the server and using the original RCON password again.

yes I has used the original and it changes and no he doens’t ahve FTp access to the server

I’d say get the FTP password changed, making sure that only your admins get the new details, then try again.
