My vote is the current state of XT. Which for an alpha, is pretty damn good. CBT needs to bring something though.

today i tryed brink ,the game is dead…
but want the movement back ;/ “in a more skillfull way”
It’s a solid game right now and it has its moments of intense fun. I think once I play on a full 8v8 more often I’ll be able to better decide how exciting it is. I was just on a 1v1 with strychzilla and I hate to /quit (no rage, just too much stress). I really like to blend in with a nice size team. The problem when the teams get smaller is there’s a better chance of one side being too strong. Once it gets lopsided it’s easy to give up.

Amen.
PS: Just yesterday I saw at least 20-30 console and PC copies of Brink in a budget bin…I shed a tear, or two:( Poor basterds wich picks them up.
Still not enough to make it better or worse than competitors in general atm. If there’s a lot of progression by OBT I’m sure it will rise in the rankings.
Okay so I voted 8 because compared to many shooters today it has the potential to be a great shooter. Even as it is I find it massively more enjoyable than BF3 and COD.
The final game will not be necessary better. I don’t think they will come back on the bad decisions (classless obj, no grenades, no good movements, low ttk, etc…)
I even think that the game can be less “good” in the future, which some bad mechanics added for new mercs.

You shouldn’t clump in everything as “bad mechanics” just because they aren’t identical to ET. That just makes people ignore what you say because it’s a waste of time to argue about it.
The problem however is, this is the exact issue this game is facing right now. In terms of movement mechanics anyway. I’m not saying, not being able to strafe or sprint left/right whilst shooting is a definite must, but you have to compensate somewhere - somehow. CS for instance has a huge and ever increasing spread to compensate for it’s very slow movement, also practically forces you to stand still in order to hit. BF and CoD series force iron sights onto you, again, limitation in movements combined with a bigger spread. Quake, ET, RtCW (all though the latter not quite as much due to its higher weapon spread) and the likes, give you near to pixel perfect aim, however, make the tracking a task due to the near to no limitations in movement during combat. As of right now, dirty bomb or… XT, is not… any of that. It has barely any spread and you can hipfire and freely maneuver without taking any severe punishment for doing so. HOWEVER, due to the limited and rather slow movement in XT (ie no sprinting left and right, no shooting whilst strafing, etc.) killing becomes… way too easy, which will force a very slow and camping oriented gameplay, despite respawn systems, if dying becomes such a big deal by not having the ability to cross distances at a fast pace and being able to defend yourself by… any kind of means. Honestly at this point, even RtCW had most definitely more weapon spread (sprinting + mouse movement anyhow) than XT does, or at the very least from the few observations I’ve made. Yet it has non of the restricted movement nonsense. All of that combined with next to no spam availability (no grenades, new-years eve crackers for an airstrike, etc) focuses the game way too much on SMG kills, which is already a big problem in itself.
Can only vote where the game sits of right now - 4/10
I understand that shaped by gamers, doesnt equate to designed by gamers - I knew that was marketing bs coming in.
At the same time ive offered my 2 cents, hopefully that feedback is used appropriately.
I’m not looking for a clone to relive past glories, just want a brilliant game like everyone else.
since i took a look at brink again , i ask myself where are the nice features like cool movement, and the big character editor.
cant understand why it is not in XT.
the game does make fun already.
i thought also about a eay to improve weapon feeling. for the heavy mg its for me ,big recoil and spread and high dmg and firerate.
would be feel more powerfull.

Wait, you can’t understand why a big character editor isn’t in the game?
I also thought; what a question/demand(for a F2P title)? But it’s actually not that “stupid”. You know, you could buy assets for an hypothetical editor, just like in Planetside 2. You could buy a cammo-set, weapons set, a color-set for weapons, a color-set for clothes, various weapon-attachement sets, and so on and so forth. Though everything should/would only be customizeable to a certain extend. For example; the color pink wouldn’t even appear in the color packs and the merc’s physical appearance* should also be “untouchable”. Also, the options to customize your weapons should be limited to just adjusting them to your personal playstyle and not to change them into entirely different weapons.
*parts of clothing: capes, hats, rucks, etc.

There will be skins and that’s it I guess …
There will also be weapon attachments at least. That’s kinda of a fact by now, even though SD said, they wouldn’t be a game-changer(like in Blacklight).
PS: You can see a red-dot sight in the PAX demo.
I really hoped this game could bring some fresh air into the objective mp gamemode.
But what I see is a slow game, good for campers. Almost all maps are bad, very linear. Weapons feel like random. My big ****ing gun is worse then some pistol. What I shoot is not what I hit. Stupid objectives. And to top all that, I believe I already posted this monthes ago more or less.
So yes the game has its good sides, it has potential to become a great game. But at its current state its no more then mediocre.
And then the shop is not done yet, Nexon is gona start soon try to monetize this; at same time Destiny is doing apparently whatever they want (probably exactly what they are allowed too).
If it works and from a mag i would rate great.
Over a long period of time it can become legendary. “à la” E.T.
If not, well you know how that ends.

Am with this in the line. Nothing new i guess.

That is why public relations are so important and SD is probably grieving hard on some of us right now, because we don’t talk “good” about the game. That is why public relations are so important, the propaganda and stuff, just realized this here in my country, especially after the elections, how powerful the fin media is and people believe the biggest sh!!!.
Well, i will sure not make bad comments about the game when it comes out. Only good ones, when i really feel it is good. So no worry SD
I think most of us will be about the same. It is still interesting to see how SD is developing the game and how many contradictions can be created, which are not even viewed as contradicting by some ^^ It is a weird process.
SD should just do exactly what they want and realize their vision. If the game was not planned from the start or there was a clear vision (much can change, i know, but general style is important when you start “mixing” stuff from different FPS genres) then shaping by gamers could get disastrous, because just putting incredients won’t work. They have to work togehter. Or how was that nice french quote: “the ass between the two chairs”, awesome ^^
