RATE question ?? what number?

hey often when im on servers theres people that bitch about the lag

so while this happened someone suggested for them to LOWER rate to around 7000 others said no no raise it higher than what you have so my question is whats the proper rate i know its dependent on your connection speed so can someone give me the rundown?

If you are on broadband, and you set your connection type correctly you shouldn’t have to mess with it.

other players cant lag out other players. you might appear warpy to them, but it has no affect on how other players are to them.

players should try and set as high a rate as suits their connection, with a max of 25000 (afaik gamecode limits you to 25000 anyway, but server likely to set PB cvar restrictions with max 25000). 56k’ers to somewhere around 3000 -> 5000, single ISDN to 7000, dual to 14000, cable & *DSL to 25000.
