RANT OF THE DAY: OPEN!

This is a stupid server with stupid rules. I play there because some of the regulars are almost pros, and the excessive rules keeps riff raff to a minimum.

Its run by some nitwit who thinks hes god going by the name of goat. What are the rules? Well, firstly no swearing. No really…NO SWEARING. Its a war game for crying out loud! For a tame example. If you see an engineer on oasis plant at the axis command post…for the umpteened time…sooner or later…you have to swear at the loser or he wont get the message. Saying something like “xxxxx, yknow if i was you, Id go to the guns first please” just isnt going to cut it.

Another rule: No whining and complaining. Newsflash! The biggest whiner there is goat himself. If a player comments: I dont like this map. Our Herr Goat will SCREAM out in chat "IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS PLACE- GO ELSEWHERE! like 50 times…and worse, make it an ingame message.

The other day I got tempbanned from there for dropping a nade while running past allied third spawn at Desert Temple. Lost about 400xp! The thing is, this is understandable because the rules say “no spawn camping”
But Im a regular there…everyone knows me (not this nick btw). And I am NEVER kicked for anything except perhaps being auto-kicked for tking a tker. I could and shrug it off, but its like the last straw. A good server (more or less) run by a pathetic man.

P.S Dont give me that lame line about : Its his server…he pays for it… you have no rights jazz. A Server is about 150 bucks. I dont feel overwhelming gratitude for it. And even so a certain level of cordiality should be maintained. Im a regular there after all, and a good one at that.

Yea no shit. $150 is alot of cash. If you have so much to spare try contributing one to the community. His server his rules. DOnt like it? GTFO and go somewhere else. Period. You have no argument here, your mooching off his cash. Thats over 1000.00 a year. Put your money where your mouth is.

Um, it is his server, he pays for it, you don’t have any rights. And if you think $150/month is nothing, then you either have more money than sense, or you’re just some blowhard kid still living in his parents basement, who has never had to support himself. As for some level of cordiality, that’s not necessary either. He may not know you enough to care about your presence on his server, and he has no reason to tolerate someone breaking a rule, even if accidental. If the rule is no spawn killing, then keep yours shots the hell away from the enemy spawn.
Quite simply, if you don’t like the rules on a server, or the admin pisses you off, leave. There are plenty of servers out there which would be happy to have a good player. Complaining about someone kicking you off their server on a public forum like this just seems childish. If you get kicked, laugh it off, or deal with it.
In case anyone missed it, I hate whiners. Suck it up and deal with it!

Tbh i think the rule about no swearing is a good one imo.
I hate people who constantly spam swear words or just moan all the time.
Just play the game and have fun :slight_smile:

Don’t play on bad servers more than once if you do your a bigger fool than i give you credit for.And guess what dont tell me i personally couldn’t give a monkeys testicle what you think about anybodys server please no more bad server crap i cant take it any more please i am beginning to go mad arrgh some one help, i hear voices…

I think the word “noob” should be banned. I was on a well-known Belgium server the other day, and not being able to speak the lingo I couldn’t understand most of what was being said, but the word “noob” appeared in almost every global and team chat.

PB can ban certain names from being used (like TEAMMATE or DISGUISED ENEMY for example). Wouldn’t it be great if it could dish out 1-minute kicks to anyone who used the word “noob” or any other word the server Admin didn’t like.

Hehe. Don’t forget “n oob”, “no ob”, “noo b”, “n0ob”, “no0b”, etc. I’ve played on a few (RTCW) servers that had some bot/mod checking for swear words. Quite funny how inventive ppl get when it comes to disguising certain words (and totally ignoring the admin’s intentions of course). :disgust:

STFU. No one cares. I object to people using this forum just to bad mouth others. Accodording to GS, there are 1693 servers running ET. Go find another one and stop crying.

I pay for a server out of my own pocket; actually I’ve rented servers for many games over the years.

And yes, it is my $ on the line so I can do as I wish.

That said… there is such a thing as just acting like an adult and not some power tripping dickhead who is playing “God” in his own little micro universe.

I spend the money on game servers so myself, my friends *and other gamers can have a place to play and have fun.

I don’t do it to play god or stroke my “e-ego” by berating people or degrading them with verbal abuse.

And while it is true that a server owner is king of his sand box, so many admins and server owners are just plain flat out assholes who seem get off on humiliating others more than they do playing the actual game.

I’m not going to chastise players for ranting about asshole admins, because I’ve been on that side of the abuse more than once as a player, and if calling attention to these pricks stops people from going to their servers then maybe they will be getting just what they deserve.

Feel free to visit us, curse at us and spawn kill us all you like. :wink:

I think you can set it up so it slays whoever says noob. Its either a 1.02 feature or Shrub. And if its shrub, I’m sure etpro has a similar setting.

You can add “noob” spelled just about any way to the censor list in the server config.

Then you can set the server to auto-kill a player that says noob while playing on the server and also set it to where if they have noob listed anywhere in their name, they wont be allowed to connect.

I remember going on a server with an unusal setup. If you had said a cuss word you would instantly die as if suddenly smited by God lol
