Yeah, but SD could at least acknowledge that. The current ranked system would be more or less fine if the player population was larger, but it isn’t. And for some reason, SD is trying to use that same system, rather than make a new one that’s built to suit the small player population.
I mean, for one, ranks based around personal performance more than wins or losses. Ways to cancel a game. General less grinding for a case. There’s so much they could do to improve ranked, but they pretend that everything is fine. The least they could do is acknowledge they have a problem when it’s popping up in the reported issues almost constantly.
This echoes my sentiments exactly.
Previously I felt obligated to play comp a bit so that I could at least get 3 loadouts for the season, so that at least I had a “participation” award.
However, there is no way the current system encourages willing participants because anyone who enters will simply get shutdown with stacks with no reward for their efforts (10 ranked points for a loss? Come on.)
What I’ve seen completely destroy balance is the creation of parties. CMM and Ranked both suffer from this. A party is formed and the skill range matched against parties is VERY wide.

When you get those kinds of match-ups after waiting 10-15 minutes, you feel punished for even trying because your rank suffers and you get 10 measly points, meaning you gotta hope you don’t get stacks in future or else you have to play 99 more games of that crap.
I can never get out of a rank because all my matches lead to me being with a decent party vs a stacked enemy or I have to carry a low skill team against a higher skill team. You can’t make teams with 1 carrier and many low-skills vs a full team of decent players. You have to stop allowing matchmaking to create such fluctuations, and if you want to slowly reduce the fluctuations, then give players better rewards for their willingness to ram their heads against the wall of common stomps.
Seriously, giving only 10 points after carrying the rest of the team and then just constantly lowering ranks while still facing higher ranked teams in subsequent matches shows contempt for your players. You need to find a better way to reward people for actually giving a damn in a match, because if only 1 person gives a damn, and the rest of the team doesn’t, then that “try-hard” will also not give a damn. I hope that that is simple enough to understand.
tl;dr Ranked is stacked too often, with little reward for those who try, so why bother?
PS: Buying ranked point boosters doesn’t help when you give such pitifully low payouts in matches that take too long to find and typically lead to unfun stacks.
