So i have seen some steps into the right directions with the last update.
Faster Acceleration, less spread, etc.

But the game is broken, i´d rather play Battlefield 3 or the latest CoD than this.
Today i have seen a attacking team win without one single medic

[li] The new Airstrikes from the FOPS are being used way too often.
[/li][li] The Nade-Soldier is very overpowered due to the small combat areas.
[/li][li] The Nade-Soldier hat ****ing matyrdom.
[/li][li] The Shotguns are too strong, again due to the small combat areas.
[/li][li] The Snipers are too strong for the long and small corridors, they do too much Body-Damage.
[/li][li] Especially the semi-auto sniper kill extremely fast (shoots faster than deagle with more DMG).
[/li][li] I can´t think of a reason why we shouldnt have nades.

[/li][li] Last but not least: The Crosshairs. Give them to me. Currently i have a Crosshair-Overlay (which is not the best, i dont wanna pay for it), and the option to go no crossair. With these two options i do better than with the options i have available now.

Immensely confused as to what game your playing reading a lot of those things. Most I can agree on is the sniper bits. Those quotes should just be removed or changed already.

Don’t forget that it’s product in development. So things like optimizations or crosshairs can evolve a lot and it’s normal if the game is technicaly not perfect.

On the parts of the map they are useful, yes. But that its atm. Weaken the weapon and make them otherwhise useful for every situation I think is the main problem.

Got the best performance ever since. Guess this is very hardware depending. 1/3 of this alpha was unplayable for me, when other ppl. were jumping around with 120fps.

Is there yet any statement about specific hardware/drivers? Im running XT on min min Specs. dont know why I should have more FPS this time. But its super fluid.

I’ll be honest OwNLY, I clicked on this thread expecting unjustified rage and vague flame at SD. You’ve actually provided your reasons for being unhappy and clearly stated what it is you want but in a relatively polite way. Hats off to you!

There is a min. spec thread but it’s outdated and pretty much a load of nonsense :smiley:

Sounds to me that you want to build a generic FPS, SMGs only. Let me adress your points for you…

The new Airstrikes from the FOPS are being used way too often.

  • This is a good thing, who wants another BF/COD without spam?

The Nade-Soldier is very overpowered due to the small combat areas.

  • Super underpowered if you compare this class to Enemy Territories Rifle nade. Adds well needed dynamics to game play and I am really looking forward to seeing a 5on5 with her being used.

  • I presume I have played many more hours than you and even till now I haven’t fallen for this old chestnut. Maybe I am just awesome though? :smiley:

  • Strongly agree, never been a fan of the shotguns and still feel insta kill closer than 6 meters is a bit off.

The Snipers are too strong for the long and small corridors, they do too much Body-Damage.

  • Agree again, would like to see body damage reduced to taking out 40-50% HP. It really shouldn’t take just 2 hits to kill any class with body shots. 1 headshot kill seems fair to me though!

  • I really dislike not having granades but this completely goes against your point you made with the small spaces with the nade launcher and shotguns, surely?

  • The last patch they started heading in the correct direction, slightly closer to what I think would be ideal but lets TEST it like this for a while.

Netcode! Serverside and as fast as possible and without anything that isnt necessary please, not like BF4 (1:03 this … talks about the netcode).

  • One of the best Netcodes I have had for an unreal game. Sure improvements are always welcomed but I feel there are other things to adress before looking at this.

Performance!!! Without good working game no good testing.

  • I would love MORE FPS and whatnot but for now I guess I can live with 50fps.

Regarding grenades… didn’t you just say they aren’t good for smaller combat areas? I don’t think we should have nades. I love the fact that they removed them from most of the classes.

i know these are all tests but its a struggle for me to even get to the front line.
il be back once the damage is balanced. iv had my last game on this patch.

  • I like that there are no nades.
  • I think the airstrike is fine, as long as there are competitive limits (team charge bars like et)
  • I agree that shotty’s seem to powerful (this is mainly in part to map design - it;s like they are effective everywhere).
  • Agree about snipers being too powerful. It should take an extra shot to kill with body shots (at least)
  • I hope the jumping spread quadruples in the next patch

My major gripes right now are;

  • body shot dmg is too high. yes, there are probably valid reasons for this, but it is infuriating, and after a couple of rounds of dying to body shots in 2 seconds I usually leave.
  • some maps that need some reworking/restructuring but are apparently too far in the development phase to change. These are basically a write-off in terms of me having fun playing them (london bridge, canary wharf). Another problem with maps is the lack of a proper doc run (maps are also too long).
  • It takes too long to call in an arty that does no more damage than a nade (that we don’t even have) that a leaf blowing the map interrupts ( I play fops 90% of the time and this is frustrating).
  • proper spawns and respawn timers
  • more fps. I am sure this will improve but my current average of 60-70 with a full server which dips when **** starts happening makes me sad (I really feel for the people playing with less than that).
  • no matter how good of a pub game it is if there isn’t at least 20-30 ACTIVE North American competitive teams I will not have fun playing this game. i will grow tired of it in a month or two and stop playing it like the rest.
  • yesterday was my first time playing it in over 4 weeks. The new patch is obviously an improvement in most areas, but the major issues we (mostly the competitive community) have been talking about for months on end have still not been addressed (aside from the spec options, which are great). That is concerning to me - alpha or no alpha.
  • the all class objectives - I have played it often enough to decide that I do not like it.

  1. The whole “Team won without medics” is mostly due to the broken spawn system. You can’t copy W:ET maps and change everything else, it won’t work. Need longer spawns with waves implemented - or anything different from whatever we have currently.

  2. Shotguns are overpowered. They’re so strong in fact that I’ve seen combat engineers in pugs. It doesn’t make sense. Especially because SD is making engineer the objective class by repairing/arming/hacking faster. An engineer shouldn’t be able to one shot me with a shotgun unless he gets a headshot.

  3. Haven’t played enough to see how popular the new airstrikes are. It could be that people are simply playing fops a lot because it’s a brand new change so people are testing its viability. The airstrikes needed to be buffed, I’d leave this be for now.

  4. Snipers are way too strong. Agreed. I like the fact that snipers are somewhat viable in competitive play but in some parts of the map they’re simply too strong.

this no medic per team problem is rly true.it seems like the fops weapons are way too strong compared to the medic ones since last patch.i oftern get hit and cant react.that must be the reason for the 6 fops per team

grenade launcher im not sure about it .but what i rly dont understand is remove nades amnd implement a spam weapon .
the big problem i have with this gun is that it feels more like random shoot near the enemy it feels not that challanging like rifle.if you miss an rifle you have infight no 2nd instant shot.this have implementet more skill neeeded.(yes i know noobstick )(for me rifle was alwys easy to learn hard to master)

im very sure that the nade thing is related to tf2 .the producer of tf2 has written that put of nades ,nearly gave instantly more fun, because the classes feel more different.
i dont hink it works in dirty bomb

what rly makes me sad is more that i rly thought it would be a bigger patch .it feels like they simply ignore all post about certain maps. all cry about LB no real changes.the changes overall at the maps are rly small .next example waterloo ,still first stage feels often way too hard and unbalanced.
in cup we have fullhold and than end the map in about 3 min.

so i please you SD people speak with us :/.

Shotguns are not OP IMO most of the shotgun kills are in and around where you would expect a shotgun to shine in a firefight. Some maps are more suited to corner camping granted, however if you bring back a grenade for every merc that issue will dissipate quickly.

The snipers are fine also most of the sniper is OP call out come from players who don’t use them, yes the body shot damage should be lowered somewhat. However only to make it not so easy to switch to your secondary and finish the job. In any case it’s a under used class, for the most part you want “OP” look class is the most played…

What if we give everyone grenades, but remove the cooking feature? No refill by Ammopacks.
Maybe a cooldown to prevent selfkill for another nade.

Works great for stopping the EV and Area Denial / Area Capture / Suppressing Enemys.

But no longer guys coming around a corner with a nade timed on 1 second.
Even i have abused that a lot. Timed nade on the objective -> quad kill.

SD already said they’ll limit the changes a config can do. This is obviously too much.
I don’t understand why people are buying the founder’s pack for $320 but can’t afford a decent PC. Some people have messed up priorities.

Before i had a PC that even exceeded the recommended PC Specs by a bit. BF3 with more than 80 FPS was no problem.
But here i had less than 50 FPS with more than 6 players on the whole servers. So i tried destroying the config.
btw. i bougth the pack for $120.

Now i have a “decent PC”: i7 4770K and a GTX 770 OC. Gives me stable 120 FPS when recording Battlefield 3 in HD.
XT is still laggy. We need A LOT of performance improvements in the next months.
If the game is not performing well, you cannot balance correctly.

I don’t understand what is so OP about nade launcher? I’ve not seen everyone flock to that weapon and getting massive amount of kills with it. In the past few days since I decided to give it a try I’ve not seen anyone use it for a whole map and get a positive k/d ratio with it, I noticed I was doing crap but felt better seeing what others were getting :slight_smile:

I currently find it a bit hard to judge where the nades will land and explode at medium to long ranges but hopefully I’ll figure it out as time goes on, early days yet using it. It would appear you need a direct hit to inflict any real damage with the weapon also and that the splash damage of the nades are rather small. Will keep trying to use it, would rather have a rocket launcher though.

Simply play it like a shotgun. Small rooms, tiny spaces.

I agree on some points. I hope that SD will see that class balance (mainly weaker medics, stronger FOPS) is worse this patch than it was before. It feels like the teams are less balanced now. I sometimes also feel that I die without having any chance against someone with a shotgun. 1 or 2 shot kills are really fast. But I also trust that SD sees through ECHO whether or not there is a problem with it. Other mercs get free kills through other means, so I think that it should be fine, even though it feels unfair in a fire fight. Dying because of an airstrike, a grenade, a molotov cocktail, … feels less unfair to me (I’m not saying it is), while basically being the same.
