Radar: @ Main

I find that very often when I am playing Radar; as either allies or axis, i get bummed in firefights around the main area -as opposed to side- simply because there seem to be invisible ‘extensions’ to the walling near to the axis side.

I guess unless i posted a demo - drunk as a monk and cba -, it is quite hard for those of you who have not experienced this phenomenon to understand exactly where and how i mean.

Hopefully though, some of you will know what I am referring to… is this solved in ETPro or not?

I think I know what you’re talking about. The crosshair is aiming past the wall, but your bullets still hit it. I’ve never been bummed by it, it works both ways. It’s not very big either. You know it’s there, you just gotta compensate for it.

Check the clipping for the walls in Base. Rush as Allies to main tunnel (goin North gun) and crouch in the small inlet gaps. Lean out to see full view of bridge then go back to normal pov… switch to Panzer and fire… low and behold, vapourised. Seems the walls stick out an extra 2"'s… :wink:

I noticed this for the first time ever yesterday, some allies dude was standing under the bridge looking the other way. I press left mouse and shout out “hahaha die sucker, DIE!!” as loud as I can, and attempt to kill him. About 50 shots later and not a single one hit, even though my crosshairs were right on him. The only reason I noticed and knew none of them were hitting were coz of ETPro’s hit sounds. Without the sounds I would have probably assumed he was an invinsible haxxor. But it was just my bullets hitting the bridge even though my aim was on the allied bloke.

The reason for this is models don’t clip so the mappers have to make brushwork to take the rough shape of the model. Kinda crappy. I think that’s what causes it anyway.

Another annoying spot is on Battery when you’re on the balcony bit overlooking the gun controls and see an allies trying to plant, its bloody hard to shoot him through the bars since the bullets keep bouncing off thin-air.

i often have a similar problem on radar. If im allies and hiding in the main gate area on the right i often find that there is an invisible wall jutting out from the right side wall and i cant walk walk past it unless i walk backwards first. So if i side step to the left and then try going forwards in the direction of the wooden bridge something stops me. If i then move backwards one step it stops and i can go striaght forwards through there. i dunno if that makes any sense but im always getting caught by something in the exact same spot. it seems to be triggered by sidestepping alot at that corner (so if im firing at some axis on the wooden bridge side stepping left and right using the right wall as cover). As far as i can tell once im cuaght in the invisible box i can move all the way to the left but still not go forwards, the only way to escape the invisble box is to step back first. Sounds daft i know but i swear its true
