Radar KiLLs my new PC

i just got a new pc and i cap at 125 fps although in really open spaces it goes down to 110

but on radar it goes as low as 40 fps and hardly stays at 125, also only on the radar map, my ET freezes for about 5 seconds. i think its my graphic card because i think its totally outa proportion to my pC. can anyone help me?

my specs are

AMD 64 3500+
Asus AV8 deluxe mobo
1gig Corsair ram 3200
200gig SETA HDD
GeForce Ti4200 128mb

yeah basically my parents paid for it, but they didnt want to buy a new gfx card because it encourages me to play “computer games”

… It’s a ‘Search for Extra Terrestial Aardvarks’ HDD … they are somewhat similar to badgers +3 but are vulnerable to fire and blunt weapons …

I have one question - what the hell is the purpose of the stupid grass that obscures ur view in close combat but leaves u totally uncovered in long range? Using up the little performance left?

I dislike servers with that grass disabled. That grass can save your ass if youre an axis covert waiting to blow the CP. Woohoo! 8)

ET is CPU dependant most of the time … the only exception i’ve found is the grass on radar which taxes the graphics card much more. I can downclock my gfx card (9800) really low at it has no effect on all maps except radar :confused:

but as clanbase have disabled grass on radar in the new config you should be ok ^^

also, nice system \o/

but i tested it on a server with no grass and i still had only 70fps, so the future aint looking amazingly bright

Or dimly lit like a Quake 1 level perhaps? Well then its time for some drastic action. Back in the day when ZXSpectrum was king a friend of mine suffered a fault on his 48k Speccy with it’s rubber keyboard. He took it back and got a ZXSpectrum+ for his trouble. I seem to remember my Spectrum(s) suffering multiple mysterious problems, 6 in fact - all of which required taking the Spectrum back to the shop for a replacement. I never did get a Spectrum+ however.

well i aint changed anything in my cfg screen etc, the only thing that has changed is my CPU and mobo etc yet i used to get a higher fps on my old system on radar, but EVERY other map i get owange fps its just radar and i think im going to have to get a new card

i was planning on saving up and gettin a 6800 ultra, but this map is killing my pc :stuck_out_tongue: and i might have to get like a 9800 or something
