Poor kinonez, his family stuff hasn’t improved and he wrote me that he doesn’t feel he can continue. What a shame, I think you will all agree he is the most improved player and really tried his best to keep up with a very time consuming tourney.

A true class move by a true gentleman! Maybe el co will agree with me to give him a shot at us after the tourney when his head has cleared a bit, just so he will know how he would have stacked up (if he wants).

Anyway, I would have won game one, so maybe just put the score at 1-0 Paul and let us know how you plan to do the final. Hate to win this way, but it was clear his play has dropped considerably and I understand why it would be frustrating for him to not be able to play his best.

Uhm, no offence, I realize I’m the spam master supreme, but if anyone out there is paying attention we have a final. It was a messy, ugly path but here we are.

Lets clean things up, Paul or someone else with a pulse from Splash, please step in and lets have a nice, exciting, WIDELY VIEWED final. I bet you would stoke enormous interest in this game if you showed people how intricate and interesting it can be! The new beta testors you brought in from other games have already been stunned by how cool Mulit is, but even they really haven’t seen top level play yet.

In fact, NO ONE HAS because Rad just flat out REFUSES to develop some kind of replay system. FOR THIS ONE EVENT PLEASE, THE FINALS OF THE WORLD CUP, CAN YOU HAVE A WAY FOR PEOPLE TO FOLLOW THE GAMES AS THEY HAPPEN. You are flat out nuts if you don’t. In fact, you might learn something yourself about how this game is being played.

Ok, I never use all caps, so please now I’m really passionate about this, win or lose, I think people should be able to follow this four map match between me and El-CO in something other than my 1930’s radio play by play I’m doing in this thread. IT IS A BAD BUSINESS DECISION NOT TO CAPITALIZE ON THIS. Imaging if golf club manufactures decided not to take any part in the PGA, really really shortsighted.

SO seriously, guys take a meeting and get it done where people can follow the match in some manner you deam possible (I could give you 10 ways off the top of my head).

Kind of grazing through these posts during my inactivity. I wanted to leave my opinion on Favella being whoever goes first wins. It’s about a 90/10 win ratio (10 being you made an error some where.)

I don’t believe Favella or Old Town should be a part of the cup. If you want a small map Lapa is much more balanced and Construction seems to have a lot of possibilities.

I had a thread about full match replay but it didn’t get a lot of traffic.
I heard a rumor that the Chrome version had full match replay but I haven’t been able to find it so I assume it doesn’t exist.

JFTR, the submission of turns only happens after it has been placed. We do not transmit turn data to the server before you finish your turn.

Yes, but the data packet is transmitted in order to form what is essentially a replay of your opponent’s last move you see at the start of your turn. Those packets of move data could be compiled into a larger replay. In house you could spin the animations and stuff and make a mini movie out of each turn, obviously after we send it.

Ok thats one idea, sure there are others! If I-pad video capture is “impossible,” what about Chrome? There must be away to screen capture in some way the act of moving.

You could have two blokes from the pub with personality to do play by play:)

Gotta be a way, but I am sorry for my pyrotechnics on the subject, its just such a shame:(

Why didn’t you ask me first, Ciakgb? You are not the representative of the players and you should consider that others might have different opinion than you. I think you have learned it during THIS tournament.
I thought this tournament as a closed, small game and I don’t have any passion to play in public. Playing in the tournament final will cost me some time, especially if it will be open for public. I’m having a busy time right now, and may not have enough time to play. Anyway, I’m playing the game for fun, not for show. I understand that you are excited about the idea, but please don’t ignore me. If you would like to perform an exhibition match, please ask another finalist.
Honestly speaking, the tournament took so long time with a few troubles and I’m loosing my interest in it (and I’m busy right now). I hope you understand my situation.

So do you get the world championship in things often, El-Co? 'Cause I don’t. This thread has more views than most I could find, so obviously there is interest.

If you cared about the game, you wouldn’t mind a public match to promote it. What if they showed each game, but only after a result?

As for being some self appointed players rep, by being a stick in the mud, you are effecting my experience as well. I would definitely have checked with you first if I had the foggiest notion that you would say no!

Seriously, you’d rather toil in obscurity over what is sure to be a difficult, hard fought match that we will be the only two people who ever see?

As for being busy, I seriously doubt you are as busy as me with a newborn…

No man, it doesn’t have to record are every practice move or anything, just some kind of visual representation of the game. If it were possible to not show invisible objects, you could easily do a daily update, “Today In The Rad Soldiers World Cup” and post it on you tube. Or, you could wait till each game was completed and generate a replay of that and post it on you tube, or here.

I was told a while back that you have every game of Rad, you used to look at mine to find the famous death glitch. Can’t you just grab that file and push it through chrome and do a video capture even? I mean obviously the best result would be to give it a little drama and humor, some new angles and add some funny commentary by a programmer and a voice talent.

But barring that even a simple replay like we see at the start of every turn, compiled into a narrative.

Well THAT I understand, which is why I’m arguing that it is a wise business decision to publicize the match. While RAD has a goofy, light exterior, the key to its success has been that at its heart its a rock solid strategic experience. Why wouldn’t you want to show off your game, how good it is?

I think too many people play a couple of 14 point matches (with not enough soldiers) and lose interest, without ever glimpsing the potential of the game. You could change that by showing people fun matches, showcasing more expensive soliders and weapons they can aspire to.

Was Starcraft that great, or was it that people in Korea could watch it on big screens?

If you guys believe at all in e sports, gaming, I don’t know why you’d relegate the championships of your game to the dustbin.

I mean quick, show me a Rad Soldiers Game, maybe I’m intersted–oh wait, there isn’t a single playable video of a game anywhere online. How can that be good for business?

As for the replay thing, whatever too! Can’t blame me for trying to drum up interest in the game.

I never said I was the best. I did beat Ranger, Mitsid and Kin in the first game.

And whats wrong with a little prematch hype? El-Co vs Ciakgb, the grudge match…come on you, know you want to see it:)

I confirm that ciakgb deserves to be in this final. He played 2 matches against me very strongly. Of course he was also lucky in some moments, but without luck no win is possible. But I also agree with Shiek that you should just start playing with El-co now. Just send him a challenge…

Ok, I feel you guys. Can we briefly hear back from El-CO? I don’t want to say challenge at Favella and then have a fight about it. A fair way might be one of us picks first, the next two to the other, and the final game back with player one.

I don’t know as the underseed coming from the losers bracket I necessary should get to pick first. These were kind of things I was hoping Paul or someone would decide for us so we don’t have to have an extended back and forth.

Anyway, all bluster aside, ELCO I know we both put a lot of time into preparing for the tourney, and I hope you have an exciting final:)

You should understand that others might think differently than you, Ciakgb. I don’t think that this tournament as a world championship (Does any championship have such trouble with who plays first?), I’m not interested in playing in public to promote the game (I like RAD Soldiers but this is one of the games and games are not my top priority), and I AM BUSY no matter how busy you are! (Anyway, congrats for the baby).
If you really wanted to play in public for the final, I think I’m the one you should ask first and I’m not happy with the fact you ignored me.

For the final, I don’t have any thought. I think I have an advantage (I need to win 2 out of 4 to claim the victory, right?) so you can pick the first map to play first. I still don’t like to have Favela in the match, but I will accept. I will pick the 2nd map and you 3rd, so on. how does it sound?
Remember, I’m busy no matter how busy Ciakgb is, and playing the final will take some times. I might play only 1 move a day (or even 1 move every other day). I can play several private games right now, but am not ready for big games. If people want to quit the tournament and want to move fast to the next cup (with public viewing, maybe), I’m OK to stop the tournament here. I’m sorry but the final will take a few more weeks.

Come on, Ciakgb. The first time you said that you would like to withdraw from the tournament as you are the only one who played beta and had some advantage with the update, I said you don’t need to leave the tournament with that kind of reason. The second time you said that you would like to stop the tournament because of the Favela issue, I agreed you that it might be a good time to finish the tournament. When you proposed (rather unfair) quad match, I told you that I would prefer to finish the tournament rather than playing quad. Don’t play any propaganda please.

El co, I think you are now making the same mistake that I did before. You argue with ciakgb too much. Dont do that. First it is hopeless - you will never win these talks. And second (and most important) that is his secret weapon. He will eat your brain here at the forum and then, when you get weak he will own you totally at the field. Dont say then I did not warn you :))))
