r_picmip problem

Hi,
I have r_picmip set to 3 however everytime I start et or join through a server it is set at 1. If i /exec my config it will say r_picmip will be changed upon restart. So i /vid_restart and it is still at 1. I repeat the process with the same result. However if i just type /r_picmip 3 and /vid_restart it stays at 3. I am really confused why that is and how to fix it. Obviously I have tried doing /seta r_picmip 3. Any suggestions? Btw I can’t tell when this happened but it was around the same time i did a /cvar_restart and also updated my graphics card drivers. I rolled back my graphic card drivers to over 1 year ago and still no luck.

delete|backup …/Wolfenstein…/etmain/profiles/yourprofilename/etconfig.cfg and …/Wolfenstein…/etmain/etmain.cfg and configure your game from scratch? looks like et loads default from game folder or profile

I experienced same problem on OSX … lol.
What helped is to start the game with specifying the setting over command parameters - seems similar case as com_hunkmegs.
Edit the shortcut for et and add to the command line

"c:\wolf blah\wolfet.exe" +set r_picmip 3

Beside that a server admin can use forcecvar to lock r_picmip on some value.

nah configuring my game from scratch won’t help. I’ve edited the etconfig’s many times to picmip 3. I’ve tried reinstalling the game. It’s weird cause now I have it so that it will load picmip 3 when I first join a server. Its still bizarre however that if I /exec my config and /vid_restart it will go back to 1 even if it was already at 3. But if I just type the command /r_picmip 3 and /vid_restart it will change to/stay at 3.
