(R)evolution Begins.

I’m wondering what role the “evolution” plays in the grand scheme of things. Does it apply to the growth and “leveling” of your character or is it something much bigger within the story?

Thoughts?

i think its called ®evolution because brink takes a few elements of other genres and implements them into a first person shooter (character costumization, s.m.a.r.t., gaining expirience …)

it kind of creates the new step in evolution for first person shooters.

i think thats what it is about. no story involvment.

To me it applies to a large number of radical ideas and features of the game. It seems to be a landmark in the evolution of games with revolutionary ideas, not to mention taking place under a revolutionary theme .

I hadn’t thought of that, but it makes sense. The “play the whole campaign against real people” concept is truly original and I’m surprised it hasn’t been done by now.

(tokamak) #5

It’s just one hell of a cliché and overdone tagline.

I view it as the contrast and clash between Security and Resistance. Security wants to keep and refine the path they’ve followed for several years, while the Resistance wants to sweep the old ways under the carpet and revolutionize life on The Ark. The ‘R’ being superimposed next to ‘evolution’ in a completely different typeface also supports this view.

The Resistance Revolution begins soon. Be prepared.

Come to think of it, Idk if I’ve ever seen a campaign where you can die… It definitely makes the game less frustrating, especially If you try to beat game modes on the hardest difficulty against AI. Though I must say that I am even happier that I am not obliged to beat the campaign on the hardest difficulty (because of the radical single/co-op/multi system).

Do to lack of land man is forced to evolve into fish men that are able to live under the sea and sing magical songs that cure war.

i guess that global description for player improvement, learning, advancement, enlightenment progress ingame. both personal and team.
point is, SD pretent to bring more dimensions to this, while other brands/devs will only [slightly]polished , year-ago-created, model, in Americas Army.

p.s.
use square brakets instead ordinary ones in such case.
or square-brakets-enforcement policy will arrest you !!

i think the whole evolution idea can be taken in two ways. the security trying to make the ark a better place for everyone or the resistance trying to make it an environment suitable just for them.
I prefer the resistance personally, not a big fan of cop authorities.

What side does everyone else prefer?

no, im think both security and resitance try solve SAME problem from Different angles, for plenty of reasons, both logical and subjective.
hope is there also palliative endings in Brink.
not only “we win and crush/steamroll anything else”.
i mean, winner have no need to be Evil.

(Nail) #14

it’s marketing

(spazski) #15

(brbrbr) #16

from this angle of view, is ANYTHING on this little planets is and about marketing.
thats ridiculous, blaspermous and untrue.

(Nail) #17

it’s not a bad thing, but it is what it is

(mjjdj88) #18

(brbrbr) #19

so fatalism as excuse for civilization [self-]eradication ?
funny, but unpractical.
