Hello guys,
I’m writing this to inform you all that me and my partner Dalys is planning on opening an european fanpage dedicated to QW! At first we will be aiming to report news on the game etc, but as time goes we will start arraning tournaments etc. when the game is released!

I’m always baffled by the fact that fansites pop up in numbers long before a game is released. How many fansites were there when the exiled members of Blizzard North founded Flagship Studios?

#1 - What’s so wrong about opening an fansite in the early stages? We did this beacuse we wan’t to establish a big(?) ammount of visitors from the very begining. Opening a fanpage 2 months after the release of the game won’t make you the number one site.
#2 - Yes ofc, I was to lazy to do that at the time though. :slight_smile:

Nothing wrong with it, by all means. Didn’t mean to come off negative. It’s just that I think it’s queer to dedicate a website to something you don’t know if you like or not yet.

What if the game comes out and you dont like it? WIll you keep up your fansite? Why not wait till it comes out and see if its worth your fansite.

RTCWOnline.com was up before the game was released and they ended up with over 50,000 registered members and a kick ass game :slight_smile:

At the end of the day, if Sodah hates the game and shuts his site down, he’s the only person who’s really wasted any time.

All I’d ask is if you make a site and at some point get bored of keeping it updated, just stop - don’t carry on out of some misplaced sense of obligation. Above all, don’t just rehash press releases and emails sent to you verbatim, or copy/paste news from other community sites. I HATE dead sites that keep struggling on - nobody really enjoys using the site, and yet nobody wants to make something to replace it because, well, it’s still there.
